Mohali 10th February:-- Indo Global Colleges celebrated 11th Annual Sports meet with great zeal. Sukhjit Pal Singh SDM Kharar was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The budding engineers, architects, managers and educationists all showed their skills on the field. Over 900 students out which more than 400 were girls competed in Athletics comprising of Races, Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Discuss Throw, Hurdles etc and in Games like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis and Badminton.
There were also many fun games and fun activities like Race for Senior Faculty like Dean, Heads of Department and even the Directors like Chati Race, Spoon & Melon Race for Lady Faculty .The most interesting activities were breaking the Handi tied on a height of over 60 feet by groups of students, a Treasure Hunt which saw participation of over 300 students searching for treasure across the sprawling 60 acre campus and the most vigorously contested game was the tug o' war. The final contest of tug o' war was between the teams of Mechanical and ECE Department with ECE winning the toughly contested event.
Students of Architecture & Civil Department showed a lot of zeal taking away prizes besides being declared the best in the synchronized March Past, Akshay Manhas from Mechanical won the First position in 400 and 800 meter races while Gaurav Lakra from IT Department took away the first position in 200 Meters race. In the Girls segment Gurpreet Kaur secured first position in 100 and 200 meters and for Boys it was Akshay from Mechanical and Gaurav Lakra from IT.
Sukhjit Pal Singh the Chief Guest congratulated budding youth and said that Sports is all about zeal, determination and stamina. Chairman Sukhdev Kumar Singla lauded the efforts of the organizing committee for such meticulous planning and execution of an event of so big a magnitude.
