Lecture on Traffic Rules Awareness at MCM

Chandigarh 22nd November:-- MCM DAV College for Women organised a lecture on Road Safety and Traffic Rules here today. An initiative of the MCM Environment Committee, the lecture aimed at sensitising the students about the significance of adhering to traffic rules. DSP (Traffic) Chandigarh Jai Bhagwan was the chief guest on the occasion. Chief Traffic Marshal Wing Commander C.S. Grewal, Lady Traffic Marshal Uma Mahajan and Sub Inspector Sukhdev Singh apprised the students of the various laws pertaining to use of seatbelts, helmets, etc. and stressed upon the importance of practicing safe driving on the road.

Citing statistics of the accidents and the resultant fatalities in the tricity, DSP (Traffic) Jai Bhagwan exhorted the students to become responsible citizens and observe traffic rules with full sincerity. Chief Traffic Marshal Wing Commander C.S. Grewal appreciated the role of MCM DAV in creating awareness about road safety. He further added, that every life is precious; on the road, we must make conscious efforts to safeguard it by being patient and following traffic rules. Instead of turning a blind eye to accident victims, we must readily help them so that their lives can be saved."

The principal of the college, Dr. Puneet Bedi was highly appreciative of the endeavours of the college's Environment Committee towards social enrichment. She stressed that the use of helmets and following regulations are imperative for ensuring one's as well as others well-being.
