‘Idea Junior Champions League’kicks off in Punjab Schools: Over 18,000 Students from 230 Schools across 15 towns in Punjab to clash for the coveted title

Chandigarh 08th October: --- To promote sports through Inter-School Sports Tournament, Idea Cellular launched its annual property titled 'Idea Junior Champions League' (IJCL) in Punjab today. In its 3rd consecutive year, the initiative aims to encourage sports like Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey and Judo among the youngsters in the state. The Tournament, to be held across 6 cities - Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Patiala and Bathinda.

 

While speaking to the Media Chief operating officer Punjab, HP & J&K, Idea Cellular  Arul Bright said that over 18,000 students from 230 schools across 15 towns are expected to participate in the League. We have witnessed tremendous enthusiasm from students and school authorities in the previous two editions, and are confident of taking this property deeper into the state, this year.He further added that  Idea Junior Champions League is aimed at developing sporting skills and inculcating the spirit of healthy competition, among school children in Punjab. He said that the finals of the Idea Junior Champions League will be held between 25th Nov and 15th Dec. While asking about the future of the Tournament, He said that 2 IJCL gems who have gone ahead and proved the metal in Indian National Games – Manpreet Kaur (Shortput winner) and Narinder Singh (400m Winner) were also present at the event.
