Chandigarh 22nd October: --- As Diwali is round the corner, the wait for most awaited shopping festival of the region is over, as Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising 18th edition of CII Chandigarh Fair 2013 from 25-28 October 2013 at Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh, with NABARD as the Principal Sponsor; Gionee Smart Phone, SBI and SBOP as Associate Sponsors and supported by NSIC, the four-day fair – spread over 16,000 sq m – will host 230+ exhibitors in 12 concurrent shows, including the Auto display that would display the latest and the most trendy, fuel efficient and swanky cars at one place for the tricity residents and investors The fair, with global flavour, is all set to showcase a variety of products to choose from countries like Pakistan, Thailand, Afghanistan, Chicago etc besides finest products and consumer durables, glitzy gizmos of domestic and global top brands. More than 60 companies from Pakistan with their exclusive range of products ranging from designer garments to hand-woven carpets and onyx marble products etc are participating this year. Exclusive range of home appliances from Chicago will add more spark to the fest, in addition to utility items, carpets, handicrafts, home decoration and furniture and furnishings from Afghanistan and Thailand.
The four-day fair is all set to capture the nerve of family shoppers with large focus on deals & discounts, lucky draws and 360° promotions. There are focused pavilions viz - States of India, Consumer durables, International Arcade, Finmart, InfoCom, Persona, Décor, Auto Show, Fruit & Food Show, Mega Brands, Haute Couture and Social Expo. The fest will be also a great platform for B2B interactions and meetings. It will help the local stakeholders and agencies in establishment of new business tie-ups and sound networking. The States of India Pavilion will have exhibitors from Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Rajasthan showcasing their specialties in handicrafts, suits, sarees and other hosiery articles in addition to a variety of small and big interesting decoration and useful articles.
Giving detail about the Fair Pikender Pal Singh, Regional Director, CII NR, said, that the fair promises to be a true shopping platform for residents. It has always been CII's endeavour to bring the best of products with latest technologies and variety to the residents under one roof. Every stall will offer something different to the shoppers. We are working with NABARD for the 'Social Expo' - a display for the small-scale entrepreneurs and artisans, NGOs, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) to give them a platform to sell their handmade articles. The Social Expo Pavilion will offer variety of products from NABARD and KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) which is participating for the first time", he added.To tickle the taste buds of visitors, delicious Kashmiri food, Lucknowi 'Zaika' and Amritsari and south Indian delicacies would be available. He added that for women, Persona and Decor pavilions would be of particular interest featuring the latest and best in healthcare, beauty and fitness, as also interior furnishings and bath fittings. Big brands like Amway, Venus Remedies, Aditya Birla Group, Garmi Go, Nature Essence, Maxwell Healthcare, Life Line will also be participating.Speaking about their participation, Mr Naresh Gupta, Chief General Manager (CGM) NABARD, Punjab shared that, "CII Chandigarh Fair is an outstanding platform to promote the talent of regional artists and craftsmen. We look at this as an opportunity to showcase products like Phulkari suits, Punjabi Desi Jutti, Knitted Garments, Hand-made soaps, herbal cosmetics and processed food items at reasonable rates
