INTER COLLEGE COCKTAIL COMPETITION- BACARDI MASTER MIXER 2013 organise at AIHM

Chandigarh,11th September:--- Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, along with Bacardi India , host  a two day interactive session on" A-Z of Bartending" followed by a Northern Region Inter college cocktail Competition "BACARDI MASTER MIXER 2013".  

The audience, included faculty from the Hotel Management colleges of North India, students of 2nd year and 3rd year of AIHM Chandigarh. They were exposed to this great art by the Bacardi team led by Nitin Tewari who took them through the journey of the cocktails and latest trends and techniques in global bartending. He also introduced the students to the methods of "Molecular Mixology". Molecular Mixology methods enable the creation of greater intensities and varieties of flavor, flavor combinations and different ways of presenting drinks by using gels, powders, foams, atomized sprays etc., which enhances the appearance of the cocktail to a great extent.

Today, the most awaited Inter College competition called " BACARDI MASTER MIXER 2013" was organised.  More than 12 reputed and leading Institutes of Hotel Management from North India including teams from Delhi, Faridabad, Shimla, Dehradun, Gurdaspur, etc. participated in the said event which was a show case of the best efforts, creativity and bar tending skills. The competition comprised a number of levels such a 'quiz to test the knowledge of participants', 'making cocktails with surprise ingredients' and 'signature drinks' and   "Bacardi Classic Drink Round".

Secretary Tourism, Chandigarh Administration Anil Kumar, IAS, and Chairman Dr. Ambedkar IHM were the Chief Guest on the occasion and gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners. He also applauded the efforts of the Institute to host such an event at this level and stressed on conducting such workshops periodically for the benefit of the students and faculty members.

Mrs. Bharti Tyagi, Principal of the Institute was delighted over the entire sequence of events. "We are proud of alumni like Nitin who in spite of their glory and status always think of giving back to the Institute by guiding the students and providing a huge platform to showcase their learning abilities, creativity and skills which they have acquired with hard work and dedication. Such competitions provide our students with a unique exposure which enhances their confidence, knowledge and skills" quoted Mrs. Tyagi.
