Shivraj Patil administers oath to Gen Buttar as PPSC Chairman

Chandigarh, 08 July: -- Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil today administered the oath of office and secrecy to Lt. Gen. (Retd.) MS Buttar as the Chairman of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).

Earlier, NS Kang, Financial Commissioner Revenue, who conducted the proceedings of swearing in ceremony, sought the permission of the Governor to begin the oath ceremony. Soon after, Buttar was sworn in as Chairman, he signed the oath which was counter-signed by the Governor.

Prominent amongst others who attended the swearing-in-ceremony included Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Revenue and Public Relations Minister, Punjab Bikram Singh Majithia, Cultural Affairs Minister, Punjab Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Principal Secretary to Governor M.P. Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and S.K. Sandhu. Besides the members of PPSC and several senior officers of civil and police administration were also present on the occasion.

Buttar was accompanied by his family members, friends and relatives, who offered their best wishes to him on his new assignment.....
