Chandigarh 18th June:--Health Department, UT-Chandigarh today organized
Health Awareness camp/ advocacy workshop at Maulijagran.
In the inaugural speech by Dr. Mukhmohit Singh, Epidemiologist-IDSP UT, Chandigarh he stressed upon the various ongoing activities for prevention and control of Malaria and Dengue. He also appealed the general public that every person should take precautionary measures for prevention and control of Malaria and dengue for eradication of Malaria and Dengue. The awareness camp was attended by Medical Officer Incharge CD-Maulijagran, staff from the Malaria wing, UT Chandigarh, President Maulijagran and local leaders of the area along with general community. An appeal was also made to the general public that every person should take precautionary measures for prevention and control of Malaria, Dengue and water borne diseases.
The camp included awareness regarding various ongoing activities for prevention and control of Malaria, Dengue and water borne diseases by the Health Department, UT-Chandigarh. Display of anti mosquito strategies and preventive measures was done. Information to the general community was also given regarding the notification/regulations issued by the Deputy Commissioner UT-Chandigarh, in which it is mentioned that action will be taken against the defaulters for creating mosquitogenic situations in and around their houses.
