UTCA Felicitate Asian Games Gold Medallist Nandini Sharma

Chandigarh, Sept.26, 2026:-The UT Cricket Association (UTCA) felicitated Chandigarh cricketer Nandini Sharma, a member of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team that won the gold medal in the team cricket event at the Asian Games held in Japan.

The felicitation ceremony was held at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium, where Nandini was honoured for her contribution to the Indian team’s gold-medal winning campaign and bringing laurels to Chandigarh.

Saurabh Arora, Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration was present on the occasion and announced that Nandini would be given a cash reward of Rs 3 crore under the UT Sports Policy in recognition of her achievement at the Asian Games.

UTCA President Saraansh Tandon congratulated Nandini and said her achievement was a matter of pride for Chandigarh cricket. He said performances at the international level would inspire more young girls to take up cricket and pursue the sport seriously.

UTCA Founder President Sanjay Tandon also congratulated Nandini and appreciated her efforts and commitment towards the game. He said Chandigarh has been producing talented cricketers and the success of players like Nandini would encourage the next generation to dream of representing the country.

The felicitation was attended by UTCA office-bearers and other functionaries, fellow players, coaches and selectors. 

Nandini thanked the UTCA, Chandigarh Administration, coaches, selectors, teammates and her family for their support and encouragement. She said representing India and winning a gold medal at the Asian Games was a proud moment and expressed her commitment to continue working hard and contributing to Indian cricket.
