The Gurukul School, Panchkula Wins the Title 13th S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament

Panchkula, Oct.25, 2024:– The Gurukul, Sector 20 are the winners of the 13th Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Cricket Tournament that concluded on October 25, 2024. The final match was a riveting contest between St. Soldier's School, Panchkula, and Gurukul School, Sector 20, Panchkula. The match, held at St. Soldier's School, captivated cricket enthusiasts with its exhilarating display of talent and sportsmanship.
St. Soldier's School won the toss and opted to field first, Gurukul School posted an impressive total of 227 runs in 20 overs. In response, the team of Saint Soldier's School were all out for 202 runs in 19.4 overs. The Gurukul School won  the final  match by 25 runs. Man of the match was awarded to Shuchendra Vikram Singh, of Gurukul School, who scored 130 runs of just 56 balls.

The event was graced by Chief Guest Ashok Malhotra, a former Indian cricketer, along School Principal Ranjan Kumar, Ms Neera M.Singh, Vaneet Goswami, Administrator and with esteemed guests of honor former Haryana Cricketer Varinder Chopra, Amarjit Kumar, Secretary General , C.P. Nandwani, Senior Branch Manager of LIC of india , Panchkula, Anil Kumar., Rajiv Kumar Coach & Notable members of the Press and the Cricket Fraternity also attended the event. 

The13 Wg Cdr S S Gyani Memorial Tournament continues to serve as a platform for budding cricketers, encouraging healthy competition and teamwork among schools in the region. The final was marked by thrilling moments and outstanding individual performances, reflecting the high standards of cricket.

Best Bowler- Saral Verma from Saint Soldier's  School
Best Fielder- Rajat from Gurukul School
Best Wicketkeeper- Vivan Manchanda from Saint Soldier's  School
Best Catch- Aarav Yadav from Saint Soldier's  School
Best Batsman and Man of the Series- Suchendra Vikram Singh from The Gurukul School

Promising players recognized for their talent included Bhuvnesh from Satluj, Piyush from Gurukul School, Atharv Beakta from Saint Soldier's School, and Rudra Gagneja from Saupins School. In his inspiring speech, Chief Guest Mr. Ashok Malhotra praised the players' dedication and sportsmanship, officially declaring the tournament closed. day.
