MCM In Huge Demands For Admission of Tricity Toppers

Chandigarh 07th July:-Day one of admissions at MCM DAV College for women, Chandigarh will go down in the history of the institution as a day when new records were made and broken. Both the tricity toppers with a tie at 97.6% agglutinated with the MCM sorority. More than 45% of applicants had a score of over 90%.

 

The cut off for various courses was record breakingly high. All seats for B.Sc. medical and non medical have been filled with B.Sc. 1st Medical registering a cut off percentage of 82 % and a highest of 95.6% Similarly, the cut of percentage for B.Sc. 1st Non- Medical was 85% while the highest was recorded to be 95.7%, for Bsc1st year MFT was 86.2% and highest was 94.6. The performance of Arts courses was equally impressive with majority of subjects registering commendable cut off percentages. The cut off for BA 1st year psychology was 90% and the highest was 97%, for Elective English 80.4% was the cut off while highest was 95.4%, Economics emerged another one of the top favorites with the highest percentage of 95% and cut off of 70% while the highest and cut off percentages for Functional English were 95.4% and 81.2%

 

The seats for all the courses filled up incredibly fast. More than of 80% seats have already been filled overall. The professional and add on courses were a huge pull for the applicants who signed up for these vocationally oriented courses with great enthusiasm. The post graduate level professional Diploma courses in Cosmetology and Beauty Care (PGDCBC) and Mass Communication (PGDMC) witnessed an overwhelming response. Very few seats are left. Admissions to these courses will now be done on first come first serve basis. MCM Hostel was in great demand 92% seats were filled on the Day 1 itself with a cut off of 86%.

 

The Principal of the college Dr. P. Bedi said, that inspite of the huge rush and demanding schedule we were able to cater to the applicants with ease. The option of online payment made the admission process significantly convenient.
