Mohali 03rd July:-- To streamline service of delivery system in the government offices, the SAS Nagar district has disposed of 7 lac 14 thousand 368 different cases under Right to Service Act (RTS). It was disclosed by Puneet Goyal, Additional Deputy Commissioner. He said that up till the month of May, 1 lac 92 thousand 245 cases were disposed of, whereas the number of cases disposed of from August 2012 to December 2013 was 5 lac 22 thousand 123.
Puneet Goyal said that Punjab is the first state, which has implemented the RTS Act, under which initially 69 time-bound services and the government has increased the number by adding 80 more services, which are to be delivered to the citizen. He said that in district RTS Act has been implemented in its true spirit. The services are being delivered in hassle free and time bound manner through the Suvidha Centers. "Suvidha Centers are operational at District Administration Complex , Municipal Building, Sector-68, Tehsil Complex, Kharar, Tehsil Complex, Dera Bassi, Municipal Building, Zirakpur and Block Office, Majri", he added. Mr. Goyal appeal the public to avail the services of Suvidha Centers to get the work done.
Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that at Suvidha Centers, service of New UIDs and its updating is also being extended to the public. He said that keeping in view the making of new UIDs, the government has set up permanent enrollment counters at Municipal Council, Banur, Nagar Panchayat, Lalru and Sanjh Kendra, Phase-11 besides at all Suvidha Centers. He appealed the public to get the UIDs of their children below five year age updated into Biometric Enrollments.
