Punjabi Movie ‘Bol Mere Kukda Kukdu Ghadoon’ Goes on Sets of ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’

Chandigarh 03rd April:- The Upcoming Punjabi Laugh Film 'Bol Mere Kukda Kukdu Ghadoon' (BMKKG) is being released in April. The film is a tribute to yesteryears legendary Punjabi comedian – Late Gopal Sehgal. It is noteworthy to mention that Gopal Sehgal was a Renowned Actor & Comedian. Among the many well known movies he did was the Punjabi film 'Mama Ji', in which he was in the lead opposite Indira Billi and in which Comedian Mehmood had also made a Guest appearance. The movie is written & directed by Rajinder Singh Atish & has been Produced by Pooja, who is Gopal Sehgal's Grand Daughter. The film has found a new fan in popular stand up comedian & host of the hugely popular TV show Comedy Nights with Kapil -- Kapil Sharma. The film's cast and crew recently went to visit the sets of 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' after Kapil Sharma agreed to promote the film on his runaway hit programme.

Producer of the film Pooja said that Kapil Sharma is one of the greatest human beings she has met. She also gifted Kapil a DVD of her Grandfather -- Gopal Sehgal's Film 'Mama Ji'. He was so excited to see the promo of the movie and he told me that don't forget to invite him when you have a special screening of the film. This indeed is an honour for us all

Kapil Sharma's 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' on Colors provided an exciting platform for BMKKG's Cast & Crew. The lead actor of the movie who is also debuting in the film – Rittesh was present on the sets of 'Comedy Nights with Kapil' along-with Pooja. Pooja said on the sets that BMKKG is not a biopic on Mr Sehgal, but a high quality family entertainer full of laughs. It is a tribute to Mr Gopal Sehgal & has been made under the banner 'Gopal Sehgal Fan Klub'. The movie is being marketed & distributed by White Lion Entertainment.The film has given a break to both the female & male lead actors – Rittu Sharma who is a National School of Drama (NSD) alumnus & Rittesh respectively.

Tressed- Up International Academy Announces 15 Days Free Hair & Beauty Workshop

Ms. Gurbax Rawat, Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh was Guest of Honour. The event also saw announcement of '15-days' free workshops by the Academy' to help women come out and see the varied opportunities available, if she chooses a career in the field of Hair & Beauty Industry. The workshops will be held at the NAC Manimajra and VIP Road Zirakpur branches of TIA. The seminar saw demonstrations by technical staff of TIA of how make-overs are given in the area of beauty and hair. 

Mrs. Poonam Sharma also addressed the women who attended the seminar today. She emphasized on how women could easily empower themselves through attending vocational courses , which in turn will help them stand on their own two feet and become independent. She complimented TIA for doing yeoman's service in providing courses that helped women become successful through skills' development. She said, "Tressed-Up International Academy can get in touch with me and I will facilitate financial help of Rs 15000 and Transportation Expenses of Rs 1000 for every female student from Economically Weaker Section, pursuing a vocational course here. The Academy can collaborate with us as we are already following this model with some other organisations that are working on women empowerment.

The British School Holds Orientation Programme

Chandigarh 02nd April:- To explains the parents how the learning process becomes more interesting with the use of new techniques and methods, The British School, Chandigarh, held an Orientation programme. The programme started with 'Gayatri Mantra' followed by a mesmerizing dance performance of Foundation Years and Primary students. Then the team of Foundation Years and Primary teachers – Ms Jyoti, Ms Tanya, Ms Ravinder organized a 'Puppet Show' with very colourful & creative props on the story 'The Hungry Caterpillar' which highlighted on avoiding junk food & eating healthy. A short presentation, by teachers was given which focused on the holistic teaching that The British School, Chandigarh lays stress on.

Ms Mona Sethi, Principal, said that the in-depth session apprised parents about the curriculum and methods to be followed by the school. This led to an intelligent interaction between the parents and educators. An open question answer round was held after the programme, where doubts and queries of parents were cleared.

 

Delegation Meet To Governor Against Deputy Commissioner

Chandigarh 02nd April:- A delegation comprising of  Satinder Singh  Councilor, RamBir Bhatti,  vice -president  BJP Brij Mohan, Harjit Singh, Kuljeet Singh submitted Memorandum along with Charge sheet  containing  annexures  against  the acts and Deeds of Deputy Commissioner Mohd Shayin to  Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor and Administrator of Chandigarh at Chandigarh . 

Satinder Singh, Rambir Bhatti and Brij Mohan while explaining the working style of Mohd Shayin said that that people from all walks of life are sufferers at the hands of Deputy Commissioner. They demanded an inquiry by CBI into his misdeeds during his entire tenure at Chandigarh and during the enquiry/investigation he should not be allowed to hold the post of Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh so as to save Chandigarh from his irrational orders and actions. Kaptan Singh Solanki assured that he will do the needful and send the Memorandum alongwith all annexures to the Administrator to examine.

 

Police Arrest Ambala Resident with Fake Documents

Chandigarh 02nd April:- Chandigarh police arrested Village-Kishangarh, Chandigarh resident Balbir Singh from Village-Kishangarh, Chandigarh and recovered 23 quarters of Country made Wine from his possession. A Case FIR No. 167 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered against him in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Accused was later on bailed out.

In another similar case Chandigarh police arrested Vinod Kumar of Adarsh Colony, Sector-54, Chandigarh resident near Furniture Market, Sector-54, Chandigarh and recovered 24 quarters of Country made Wine from his possession. A Case FIR No. 111 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Accused was later on bailed out.

Whereas Chandigarh police arrested Baltana resident Vinit Goyal near PNB, Sector-17, Chandigarh while consuming liquor at public place. A Case FIR No. 102 U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Accused later on bailed out. Further investigation is going on.

Chandigarh police (Crime Branch) arrested Sawan Gupta of Omax Green Society, Ambala near Sector-3-4/9-10, Chandigarh Chowk, while he was cheating to public by showing fake document on 1.4.2015. A Case FIR No. 50 U/S 419,420,467,468,471,120-B IPC has been registered in PS-3, Chandigarh. The case has been worked out.

Director PGI Inagurates First Information Kiosk

Chandigarh 01st April:- Prof. Yogesh Chawla, Director PGI inaugurated the first Information Kiosk in Nehru Hospital and also the facility of Online Registration to five more departments i.e. Dermatology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Drug De-addiction & Treatment Centre and Oral Health Sciences Centre today. This software system has been developed by M/s CDAC. The Information Kiosk inaugurated in Nehru hospital will be a one stop point for the patient/general public for providing information related to OPD schedules, labs, tests, consultants, hospital charges, holidays, helpline numbers etc. The enquiry on Kiosk can be made in an intuitive manner. For providing live patient data to the patient's attendants, PGI has also started 'Patient Enquiry Module' which is available at all enquiry counters of PGI. "Patient Enquiry Module" will facilitate the patient's attendants with patient's present admission status in a ward and other patient-related information.

Online Registration has been going on in the Advanced Eye Centre (AEC) since 14th March 2015 on a trial basis and has attracted a good response from the patients. This user friendly system is available on the Institute website (http://pgimer.edu.in) for the first time visitors to PGIMER. Patients can register themselves for a visit to the specified departments on a chosen date in the next one week. After filling in a small amount of information, a Pre-Registration number is sent to their registered mobile number and E-mail id. By presenting this number at the special registration counter in the above departments on the chosen day, an OPD card with a unique and permanent patient CR number will be generated within a minute. This permanent CR number will be used by the patient for all subsequent visits to the hospital irrespective of the department/OPD. If the patient does not come to the OPD on the chosen day, they will have to re-register on the web. Initially, this facility is available to a limited number of patients per day. Within the next few weeks, this limit will be increased and the facility extended to other OPDs in PGI.

As part of PGI's endeavours to make the Institute more patient-centric and patient-friendly, 10 more advanced information Kiosks will be installed in other buildings with increased and better facilities. Patients will be able to register for OPDs on these kiosks. In addition, viewing and printing of laboratory reports from these kiosks by the patients themselves will also be possible.

 

Chandigarh police Register Case of Cheating against Sai Jivan Hospital, Maharashtra

Chandigarh 01st April:- Chandigarh police arrested Radha Krishan of sector 18 Chandigarh, while consuming liquor at public place. A Case FIR No. 64, U/S 68-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Accused was later on bailed out. Further investigation is going on.

In another case Sector 20 Chandigarh resident Pankaj reported to the police that someone has stolen his Bolero Jeep Number CH-01AY-1644 from near his residence on the night intervening 31/03-01/04/2015. A Case FIR No. 65, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. The case is under investigation.

In case of cheating Chandigarh police filed a case against Nitin Vadhane partner of M/s Sai Jivan Hospital, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, on the complaint of Jailesh Grover, Associate Vice-president, Ms. Recorders and Medical System, that M/s Sai Jivan Hospital, had purchased medical equipments of Rs. 13,27,000/- from complainant and gave post dated cheques for final payment but all cheques got dishonored in bank. PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh registered case U/S 420 IPC The case is under investigation.

FICCI and Intel India organise Seminar on “Women Entrepreneurs: Catalysts for growth”

Chandigarh 01st April:- CICO Technologies CMD, Mrs. Anasuya Gupta an avid supporter of women rights participated in a panel discussion "Women Entrepreneurs: Catalysts for growth". The seminar was a platform to bring forth stakeholder's views and put forward suitable recommendations for creating an enabling environment for women entrepreneurship in India. The event was graced by Ms. Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Chairperson, National Commission for Women who also addressed the distinguished audience present at the conference.

‘Gun & Goal’ to Hit Theaters This Friday:The film is Based on the Life of a Football Player,

Chandigarh 01st April:- To promote game like football Sarao Films is now coming up with Punjabi film 'Gun & Goal' which is a story of a footballer's life. The film is slated for a release on 3rd April, the film has been produced by Surinderjeet Singh Sarao and Directed by Simranjit Singh Hundal . The team of the film was in town today for its promotion. When it comes to genre, the film is a blend of game, romance and action. Sumeet Sarao, Rishita Monga and Sezal Sharma are playing the central characters in the film. Sandeepa Virk, Guggu Gill, Sardar Sohi, Surinder Shinda, Mukesh Tiwari and Razia Sukhbir are among the other main characters. The story and screenplay have been penned by Surmeet Maavi. Director Simranjit has also contributed to the dialogues.

Simranjit Singh Hundal said that they wanted to make such a film which not only entertains but will inspire too. There are a number of games which need to be promoted in India. They chose football because this is probably the second most loved game after cricket, especially by the young boys. This way, more and more people will feel connected to the story. The film has been shot in locales of Punjab and Mumbai.

Experienced actor Mukesh Tiwari calls this film a welcoming gesture. He said this film has an attractive point of having a combination of sports and emotions. This is really something new for the audience. He really likes to act in Punjabi film. Though he does not know Panjabi but time & with the support of entire film team he learnt a Panjabi and spoke his dialogues.

Sardar Sohi nodded to this and added that the story is crisp and says a lot in a short while. The audience will not only carry home a message but also a thought for their life.

Lead actor Sumeet Sarao said that he worked really hard for his character. Before shooting for the film, he did a lot of research and inclined himself more and more into the character. He said that name and fame is one part of a player's life. He also has a lot of challenges in his real life. He took coaching from coach Ali Hassan two months before the film goes on floor.  

Producer Surinderjeet Singh Sarao predicted that both cinema and sports lovers will go and watch this film. Punjabi cinema needs a new direction at the moment and we are trying hard for it with this film.

Jaggi Singh, Santokh Singh, Onkar Singh and Vivek Kar have composed the music of the film. Kumaar, Santokh Singh, Simranjit S Hundal and Rajveer Bawa have penned down the lyrics. Meet Brothers, Jaggi Singh, Sonu Kakkar, Santokh Singh, Neha Kakkar, Mohd. Irfan, Shahid Malya and Sordee Boram have lent their voices to the melodious songs. Lollypop has choreographed the songs and Neelabh Kaul is the man behind the cinematography.

 

Thailand Trade Show Commences:Draws Huge Response from Tricity

Chandigarh 01st April:- The Thailand Trade Show, being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government, started off in a colorful style, attracting huge crowds, especially women at Himachal Bhawan in Sector 28, here today. Viswajeet Khanna, Financial Commissioner – Forests and Wildlife & Principal Secretary – Civil Aviation, Labour, Housing & Urban Development, Punjab and Dr Chavalit Rojjanaprapayon, Minister – Counselor, Royal Thai Embassy formally inaugurated the 5-day Show.

Viswajeet Khanna said that the people of tricity have really welcomed the Thailand Show and are attracted to their amazing products immensely; it is obvious from the huge response that the Show has evoked even on the morning of a working day in the middle of the week. Such fairs lead to rapid rise in the trade and cultural cooperation between various countries as also boost in economic ties.

Dr Chavalit Rojjanaprapayon, Minister – Counselor, Royal Thai Embassy shared that the trade and cultural ties between India and Thailand is growing particularly through the ASEAN community. Today, Thailand is one of India's important trade partners in the ASEAN region, with an aggregate bilateral trade expected to reach USD 16 billion by end of 2015. More than 1 million Indians visited Thailand in 2014-15, majorly from Punjab region.

Pikender Pal Singh, Regional Director, CII NR. said that it has been CII's endeavour to showcase the finest quality and best variety of products from various parts of the World at a common platform for tricity's residents. The ongoing CII – DITP Thailand Trade Show is one such initiative.

A Thai cultural troupe showcased some exquisite dance forms, which would be a highlight thrice a day on all five days at Himachal Bhawan. Traditional Thai dresses, jigsaw Thai lamps, flowers, a big hit All the stalls attracted huge crowds on the first day of the fair itself. The Thailand show brings a huge array of products for Tricity residents. Ranging from Rs 100 to 30,000 this show has something for every member of your family in its kitty.

A large number of women were fascinated by a good variety of ethnic Thai outfits of Premium Corner Ltd. Its variety of exclusive Thai silk gowns and one-piece dresses range from Rs 1000 to 3000.
