Ehit Salaria’s Captain’s Knock Leads Chandigarh to Thrilling Win Over HP & Plate Group Matches Hosted by UTCA and Women Seniors T20

Chandigarh, Oct.13, 2025:-Skipper Ehit Salaria produced a match-winning captain's innings to guide Chandigarh to a thrilling  two- wicket victory over Himachal Pradesh in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy match played at the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy, Dehradun on Monday. His unbeaten 96-run masterclass under immense pressure helped UT boys clinch the contest while chasing a target of 209.

Earlier, HP, after electing to bat first, were bowled out for 208 in 49.4 overs. Skipper Aditya  Kataria anchored the innings with a fine 52 off 65 balls while Arpit Singh (33) and Naunihal R (32) chipped in with valuable contributions. Chandigarh's bowling attack, led by Mohd Zaid (5/36) was the standout performer with his balling skills. 

In response, Chandigarh's chase started cautiously but soon stumbled as wickets fell in regular intervals. Once the team was struggling at 61/4,  Ehit Salaria took charge as skipper played a sensational knock of 96 not out off 97 balls studded with 10 boundaries and 4 sixes. 

A vital eight wicket partnership between Ehit Salaria and Bikram Singh Sangha (3) sealed the deal for Chandigarh as the duo held their nerves in the tense final overs to cross the finish line at 209/8 in 45.3 overs.

Meanwhile back home, Manipur defeated Mizoram by 87 runs at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium (56) as the. Batting first, Manipur posted a total of 198 runs with Zamir (56) as the top scorer In reply, Mizoram was bowled out for 111 with Rain (4/21) leading the bowling attack for Manipur.

At GMSSS-26, Sikkim recorded a 39-run win over Nagaland. After opting to bat first, Sikkim was restricted to 149 in 38.1 overs, powered by a half-century from Inzamamul (54). In response, Nagaland faltered against Adnan's brilliant spell of 5 for 28 and was bundled out for 110 in 25.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya registered a convincing 71-run victory over Arunachal Pradesh. Batting first, Meghalaya put up 137 runs with Angkit remaining unbeaten on 67. In reply Arunachal Pradesh collapsed for just 66 runs in 17.3 overs.

Chandigarh, Jharkhand registered a thrilling 13-run victory over Chandigarh in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy Elite match at Raipur. Batting first, Jharkhand posted 139/8 powered by a fine 58-run knock from Priyanka Luthra. In reply, Chandigarh managed 152/8 despite a spirited 60 from Tania Bhatia (60).
