Chandigarh October 11, 2021:- The IQAC team and Post Graduate Department of Commerce of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh organised a webinar on "Practical Implications of Research Methodology" on October 9, 2021. The resource person for the event was Dr. Nitin Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Panjab University.
The main objective of the webinar was to enlighten the students about how research can be practically applied in everyday life. Dr. Arora started the event by emphasizing on the importance of selecting appropriate topics for research. He then stressed on the continual and persistent use of libraries and free databases such as Sai Hub for downloading free research papers by peer-reviewed international authors. He pointed out that the main shortcoming of universities is the severe lack of practical education on the subjects being taught in the curriculum. He stressed on the necessity of conducting field surveys and practical sessions to overcome this shortcoming. Dr. Arora concluded the session by talking about the role of positive attitude in conducting research.
The webinar was attended by more than 90 students through Google Meet and more than 150 students from undergraduate and post - graduate streams attended through live streaming on YouTube.
Mrs Prabhjot Kaur, the Vice Principal, concluded the event with a vote of thanks. She thanked Dr. Arora for the insightful and enriching session and appreciated the efforts of the IQAC team and Department of Commerce in organising the event.
