7th International Day of Yoga Celebrated at Govt College of Yoga Education and Health Chandigarh

Chandigarh June 21, 2021:-Government College of Yoga Education and Health in collaboration with the Directorate of AYUSH under the aisle of Chandigarh Administration celebrated the 7th International Day of Yoga. The series of activities and initiatives were undertaken by the college over the month in wake of the celebrations. The prodigious event was presided over by Sh. S.S. Gill, IAS, Education Secretary-cum-Director of AYUSH alongwith Dr. N.K. Bhardwaj, Joint Director of Ayurveda and Dr. Manjushree, Assistant Director-cum-Coordinator National AYUSH Mission (NAM), Chandigarh. Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal of the college while welcoming the esteemed guests spoke about the importance of Yoga in the present pandemic times. Sh. S.S. Gill in his presidential address urged the audience to imbibe Yoga in their Lifestyle and spoke about the immense role of yoga in dealing with the uncertainties arising out of COVID19

Due to the prevailing situation, the programme was organized through online mode observing this year's theme of IDY 2021 "Yoga for Wellness" to reach out to a large number of yoga enthusiasts. The common yoga protocol was practiced with great zeal to celebrate the spirit of yoga and spread the message of peace and harmony. The session was live at YouTube channel of the college i.e. GCYEH. The programme concluded with the pledge taking ceremony and National Anthem.
