By 121 News

Chandigarh Dec. 18, 2020:- Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, President Kumari Selja said that due to the dictatorial attitude of the Central Government, more than 20 farmers have so far sacrificed their lives in the farmers' movement for which the Central and State governments are directly responsible. Farmers of the country have been forced to protest on the borders of the capital of the country in the cold for the last about three weeks in view of their legitimate demands, but the government is not ready to listen to the farmers under pressure from the capitalists.

Kumari Selja arrived at Gurugram today to attend the function organized in the Congress office to pay tribute to Sant Baba Ram Singh and other farmers who sacrificed their lives in the farmers' movement. After paying tribute, Kumari Selja also addressed a press conference.

Kumari Selja said that farmers are continuously losing their lives in this movement, but instead of accepting their demands, the BJP government is shamefully suppressing their voice. Humiliating comments are being made by BJP leaders on the farmers. She said that people lost their lives in demonetisation too, but the leaders of BJP never expressed grief on this. She said that this is the dictator government. Today, 'Annadata' is forced to come on the roads for which the government is responsible.

Kumari Selja said that the government did not talk to any of the farmers' organization or labor organization before enacting the law nor did they talk to the opposition. This government has no faith in democracy, she added.

She said that the Congress party has been raising the voice of farmers since day one. The Congress party had strongly raised its voice against these laws in the Parliament. The tractor journey was taken out by Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party is organizing protests against these laws. She said that the Congress party has got 5 lakh signatures against these laws across the state.

Kumari Selja said that in this severe cold, corona epidemic, sowing season, the farmers are forced to leave their homes, family and sit on the streets. Various types of misconceptions are being spread by the BJP about the farmers. BJP's thinking is negative and all it do is politics of divide. The BJP sometimes does politics in the name of religion, sometimes in the name of caste. The BJP believes that the right to everything belongs to the big houses. BJP has introduced these black laws for the big houses. The BJP wants to make farmers' laborers in their fields which is not at all tolerable. The BJP had promised to implement the Swaminathan Commission report. It promised to double the income of farmers, but not a single promise has been fulfilled by it, added Kumari Selja.

Other present on the occasion included Former Minister Sukhbir Kataria, Congress leader Rao Kamalveer Singh, Dr. Shamshuddin, Sudhir Chaudhary, Secretary, All India Congress Committee, Ashish Dua, Spokesperson Haryana Congress Khalid Hussain and Nikita Arora, and leaders and party workers in large number.
