World Food Day Celebrated at Desh Bhagat University

Chandigarh Oct. 17, 2020:- Department of Hotel Management & Catering Technology of Desh Bhagat University celebrated World Food Day to raise awareness about healthy diets. To celebrate the day a webinar was organized and students were asked to make a variety of dishes.

Students prepared various dishes from street delicacies of Pao Bhaji to Italian Pasta.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor and Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, DBU administered pledge to the students against wastage of food and said that we should be thankful to the almighty that we have food in our plate, whereas many of our brothers and sisters all around the world sleep without meal. Starvation is a massive problem in our country. We should contribute as much as we can to combat this problem."

Dr. Palwinder Kumar, Director, School of Hotel Management, Airline and Tourism, discussed the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.

Prof (Dr.) Shalini Gupta, Vice Chancellor, DBU lauded the efforts of students.
