Snapdeal Gears Up for @home Pooja Celebrations This Year

By 121 News

Chandigarh Oct. 14, 2020:- Snapdeal, India's leading e-commerce marketplace, today launched a special e-store for heralding the festivities of Navratri.

This year, because of the COVID 19 pandemic, government agencies have issued guidelines for the festive season encouraging people to celebrate small and at home with families. In support of these efforts, Snapdeal has launched a specially curated store, a one stop shop to make it easy for its customers to find various things they would need to celebrate Navratri at home.

The store has all pooja items like idols & framed pictures of deities, pooja mats, kalash and neti pots, havan samagri, pooja diya etc. The store also covers pooja related accessories like mini stools for placing idols, and decoration items like torans, flowers, lights and candles. All these items are arranged under one store, making it easier for people to set up their own personalised pooja celebrations.

Priced between Rs 600-1200, all inclusive Pooja Kits that have all pooja accessories and samagri items have been an instant hit, with stocks of many sellers already sold out. The demand for small temples for home celebrations is 2X of last year.

Other items witnessing heightened buying interest this year are prayer books, musical instruments like manjera and dholkis. Oxidised silver jewelry in ethinic designs and traditional apparel from Gujarat and Maharashtra are extremely popular with buyers this year.

The surge in demand for Pooja items is on account of more users opting to conduct rituals & festivities at home and not step out temples & community gatherings.

This year, Snapdeal increased the variety of healthy falahari for the fast. These include dry fruits, nutri chatpata mix, makhana, super seed chat, among others.

Snapdeal spokesperson said that as celebrations go small and personal this year, we are making sure that people have everything they need to celebrate without stepping out. Our Navratri e-store this year is a collection of traditional and contemporary items that make the celebration at home complete and meaningful for shoppers.

With Government regulations restricting large gatherings, people have found a virtual way of celebrating festivals. This year, Navratri is being celebrated through social media challenges and small house parties. Contests such as the 'Best Dressed in Navratri Theme Colours' and 'Show your Garba Skills' have seen people opting for traditional attire and fancy accessories. Snapeal's e-store also has bluetooth speakers and home audio systems at huge discounts to let Snapdeal users dance to the songs of garba at home.

Snapdeal partnered with saree label Sherine to provide special deals of up to 75 percent off on best selling Banarasi and silk sarees ahead of the season. The label has also added ethnic anarkalis for shoppers who miss wearing ghagras to dandiya raas.  There is also a range of lehenga cholis at throw away price starting Rs 399 to let shoppers make the most of the clearance.
