School Children Attend I.J. Dewan Memorial Educational Workshop at PGI

Chandigarh 21^st July:- First day of the two day 9^th I.J. Dewan Memorial Educational Workshop entitled " Organs Talk - Time to take Prevention" was conducted by the Department of Anatomy, PGI, Chandigarh on 21^st July, 2016. It was attended by the students of Saupins School, Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. School & DAV Sector 15 School, Chandigarh, Gian Jyoti School, Mohali, SD Vidya School, Ambala Cantt and students of Arvind Biology classes, Chandigarh.  The students were made aware about the serious consequences of antibiotic abuse, drinking alcohol, smoking, having trans fats, excessive use of mobile phones and driving without helmet. Plants were distributed to the children to promote afforestation.  After attending the demonstrations, many children pledged to quit junk food, misuse of mobile phones and antibiotics. Evening session was attended by the public. Second day of the workshop (22^nd July, 2016) will be attended by Govt. Model High School, Sector 12, Govt. Model School Sector 24, St. Kabir Public School, Chandigarh & Mukandlal Public School, Yamuna nagar.
