Chandigarh 08th January:- Despite there being no power tariff hike in Punjab in 2015, the industry is facing challenges related to power. A Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) led delegation comprising of Five Members led by Dinesh Gupta, Convener Mandigobindgarh Core Group called upon a meeting with A Venu Prasad, Principal Secretary Power Government of Punjab at his office.
In this regard issues on Peak Load Consumption and Night Rebate were discussed. A Venu Prasad was very receptive of the suggestions put forward by CII and assured to consider waving off peak load charges, currently @ Rs 3/- per unit, restoring of Night rebate and rebate of Rs 1 to units on their increasing power consumption vis a vis the last three years of consumption. To increase the competitiveness of the industry issues on Open access, Private Power Purchase and improvement on quality of power and unscheduled cuts were also discussed.
