Chandigarh 14th December:- The Freemasons of Grand Lodge of Upper India held their Annual Meeting at Hotel Beckons, Chandigarh on Saturday and Sunday. M.W.Bro. Balbir Singh Devgun along with his team of officers was installed as the new Grand Master for a period of three years by the Outgoing Grand Master, M.W.Bro. Rakesh Mittal. Among the new team of officers, Harbinder Singh Ranauta was installed as Deputy Grand Master and CA Kamaldeep Singh Egan was installed as Assistant Grand Master. Dr. Sandeep Singh Egan was appointed as Grand Treasurer and Hardev Singh Ranauta as Grand Secretary.
The new Grand Master, speaking on the occasion emphasized the need for Masons to make their due contributions to the society they live in, and to practice outside the Lodge those social duties and virtues which they have been taught in the Lodge. He also lauded the contributions to freemasonry, in this region, of Ajit Singh Ranauta, Dr. Pritam Singh Egan and Dr. Satwinder Singh Bhamra, past Grand Masters of Grand Lodge of Upper India.
The Annual Convocation of Supreme Grand Chapter of Upper India was held in the morning on Sunday 13th December 2015. Dr. Satwinder Singh Bhamra, the First Grand Principal of the Grand Chapter, conducted the meeting. The Annual Meeting of the Grand Mark Lodge of Upper India was also held thereafter, wherein Rakesh Mittal was installed as the Grand Mark Master.
A delegation from Grand Lodge of South India, headed by M.Nagarajan, Grand Secretary graced the occasion. The meeting was attended by a large gathering of freemasons from all over India and abroad.
