‘Mai bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute’Building Coming up in 8.82 acre at a Cost of 88 Lakh

Chandigarh 04th May:- The Punjab Government is taking a giant step forward in helping girls getting recruited in the armed forces in officer rank. An institution on the lines of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Academy is coming up fast in sector-66. It is named 'Mai bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute'. It shall begin operations from this year.

The Director of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Academy Major General (Retd.) B.S. Grewal, who is also overseeing the construction work of Mai bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, said that this institute is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 88 lakh in an area spreading 8.82 acres. He said that the institute will induct 25 girl trainees in the first phase and train them for recruitment in Army, Navy and Air force. He further added that this institute will provide swimming, hockey ground, basketball court, open air theatre and other modern facilities. He also said that the first batch shall be chosen from the entire state through entrance exam. He informed that this institute shall be the first of its kind in the state to give training for getting commissioned as officer and will also provide education in B.A., B.SCand M.B.A. courses.
