Chandigarh 13th April:- VIP Road Welfare Federation, Zirakpur launched a free Ambulance Service. Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Member of Parliament, Anandpur Sahib flagged off the Ambulance service. N K Sharma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab Government, presided over the function.
Neeraj Bhalla, President, VIP Road Welfare Federation, said that the reason behind starting the Ambulance service is that recently an elderly gentleman of one of the societies suffered a medical emergency and his son took him to hospital in a private vehicle, this delayed the senior citizen's reaching hospital & unfortunately his life could not be saved. We thought of this noble venture for the benefit of all societies and a federation was created under which we have launched the free Ambulance Service.
Brijender S. Thakur, Chairman said, that the Ambulance will be beneficial for all the 24 societies on VIP Road and will also be pressed into service if it's needed by someone else living in the adjoining areas. We hope that other societies too will emulate the example.
