Chandigarh 09th April:- NSS volunteers and students of National Institute of Nursing Education, PGI, Chandigarh celebrated World Health day by organizing health mela on theme 'From Farm to Pate, Make Food Safe' at village Sarangpur, U.T, Chandigarh. Angandwadi workers, women and children of the village were educated regarding healthy food through charts, posters, role play and video clips, demonstration on food purity tests to check food adulteration. They also emphasized public on food & home hygiene for the prevention of food borne diseases. Occasion was graced by Mrs. Gurbaksh Rawat , Deputy Mayour, MC, Chandigarh, Bikram Rana, State Laison Officer, NSS, Chandigarh, Dr.(Mrs.)Sandhya Ghai , Principal, NINE, PGI, Chd, , Dr.(Mrs.)Sushma Kumari Saini, Lecturer , NINE, PGI, Chd and Programme Officers (Dr.(Mrs.)Sukhjeet Kaur and Mrs. Meenakshi Agnihotri), NINE, PGI, Chd. Mrs. Gurbaksh Rawat, Deputy Mayour shared her experiences and Bikram Rana encouraged & congratulated volunteers for organizing this programme and making public aware about food safety.
