CGC To organise Summit on “Innovative Medical Technologies in India”

Chandigarh 10th February:- Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) is organizing Summit 2015 on "Innovative Medical Technologies in India" in association with World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) on 16th and 17th Feb 2015 at CGC campus Landran, Mohali. The summit is in line with the "Make in India" program aiming to create a platform for the Indian healthcare industry and their technology/ products/services with an objective to facilitate an environment of healthy growth.

It is worth mentioning that the Summit 2015 is supported by National Health Mission (NHM), National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Kirloskar Technologies Private Limited (KTPL) and Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AIMED)

While interacting with media director of the CGC Upinder Jain & Principal Hitwsh Katyal said that Surjeet K Jayani, Health Minister Punjab have kindly consented to be the chief guest and Mrs. Vini Mahajan, Principal secretary, Health and family welfare, Punjab and Ram Niwas, Additional Chief secretary (Health), Haryana have consented to be the guest of honor during the inaugural session of the summit. He further said that eminent doctors from renowned multi-specialty hospitals i.e. Medanta-Medicity, Gurgaon, Apollo Hospital Delhi, Max hospital, Mohali, Fortis Hospital, Mohali, Ivy hospital, Mohali, GMCH-32, Chandigarh, PGI, Chandigarh will address the conference as speakers and share their views on new technologies being adopted in healthcare in India. The industry is well represented through various associations and individual companies. To name a few there are Kirloskar Technologies Private Limited, Association of Indian Medical, Device Industry, YPSOMED India, Allengers Medical Systems Ltd., Recorders and Medicare, Ziqitza Health Care Limited, Prasad Multi Services India, MASS Biomedical, SMT Life sciences.

The Government both Union & state are being represented through various organizations like Ministry of Health &Family welfare, Punjab and Haryana,Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India,National Health Systems Resource Centre, Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Quality Council of India, National accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare.Chairman and secretaries from these ministries and organizations will address the policy issues and regulations concerning the healthcare and medical equipment industry.

The conference is first of its kind in the region and will address the long standing need of industry and professionals. We plan to make the conference an annual feature in the coming years.
