Illegal Encroachments In S.A.S Nagar Will Not Be Acceptable: Sidhu

Mohali 14^th May:-- Deputy Commissioner of Mohali Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu gave strics directions to the officials of GMADA & Municipal Corporation that illegal encroachments in the S.A.S Nagar will not be acceptable & strict action for removal of encroachment to be initiated & action taken report to be submitted without any further delay.  He gave these directions while he was presiding over a meeting at District Administrative Complex, with officials of GMADA & Municipal Corporation to review the development works in the S.A.S Nagar. He said that after taking strict action by Chandigarh administration for removal of illegal constructions, the chances of illegal encroachments in the S.A.S Nagar could increase, for which a close watch should be kept to prevent the same.

Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that illegal constructions by shopkeepers in market are noticed at various places. As such strict action should be taken against the defaulter for violating the bye laws & constructing beyond the permissible limit as per approved plan. He directed the officials to prepare a list of these defaulters. He also directed to provide a new look to the markets. Tejinder Pal Singh. Sidhu directed the officials of GMADA & Municipal Corporation to coordinate with each other for expedite the work process. During this he said that, surprise visits will be done to check the progress of development works & for any dereliction in duty the responsibility of the officers concerned will be fixed. Sh. Sidhu further directed the officials for completing the development works in stipulated time.

Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that it was noticed that at many places the malba after fixing of paver tiles is still lying at the site, which affects the aesthetics of the city. He said that directions in this regard to be given to the executing agency & proper cleanliness should be ensured. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu further directed the officials to submit a plan for making dividers on important roads, so that one way traffic could be ensured within the city. Besides this, he also directed the officials for rectifying the damaged street lights at earliest. He also directed to ensure proper arrangements for cleanliness, drinking water facility etc. in parks within the city. He also directed the officials of Municipal Corporation to initiate the sanitation drive again in the city & also directed to remove the harmful grass & vegetation. He directed the officials to ensure proper arrangements for upkeep & maintenance of multipurpose stadiums constructed by Punjab Government. He directed to prepare a plan for commencing of swimming pools in the stadiums, so that the stadiums could prove beneficial for the player & general public.
