By 121 News Reporter

Mohali,23rd December:-- Ashmah International School Celebrated the Christmas, with great fervor and gusto at its campus in Mohali. The school was decked up with the festive lights, festoons, balloons and ribbons. Students of Ashmah School had decorated the Christmas tree very creatively and had come dressed in bright and colourful party dresses.  The highlight of the day was a play based on the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ. The celebrations began with the song by Class VI students. This was followed by the Nativity Play that gave good knowledge about the Christmas. On this occasion inter-house carol singing competition was held that included all time Christmas favourites like 'Silent Night', 'Going to  Bethlehem', 'We three kings' and many more. Children in colourful costumes danced to the tunes of "WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS" and Santa showered the audience with his bagful of goodies.

Principal, Mrs. R. Ghuman spoke about exemplary personalities who thought about making the world a better place by touching people's lives more meaningfully which is actually the real message of Christmas. She also spoke about the origins of the Christmas tree and Santa Clause. She told that the evergreen tree was an ancient symbol of life in the midst of winter. Romans decorated their houses with evergreen branches during the New Year. Director, Mr. J.S. Kesar (IAS, Retd) appreciated the efforts of the students and Staff and while blessing the children said that these kinds of celebrations are educative as well as entertaining to break the monotony of the students, besides gave chance to students to show their hidden talents on the stage and enhance the confidence level of the children.
