SGPC PRESIDENT INAUGURATES GGSSC CONFERENCE:GGSSC VOWS TO RAISE VOICE AGAINST INDECENT PORTRAYAL OF WOMEN

Ludhiana 08th November:-- President of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Avtar Singh Makkar has said that SGPC has been allotted over 13 Acres of land in USA's Yuba City to conduct its activities in America and Europe. Avtar Singh Makkar was speaking at the inaugural event of the Three day 41st Annual programme of the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (GGSSC) which has its Headquarters at Ludhiana.
 
Avtar Singh Makkar said, that we have got 13.08 acres of land in Yuba City, USA and have got SGPC incorporated in America. This will help us in resolving the Sikh identity issue in a better way. There have been many attacks against Sikh residents in USA due to misconception about appearance and identity of Sikhs. Makkar added, that the office in USA will take up the issue as a mission and from there all activities in this regard will be conducted, we will also cover Europe from the US office.  
 
Meanwhile, the Annual programme of GGSSC got off to an impressive start with prominent delegates of the organisation attending the event from across Punjab, India and the World. The programme is seeing participation of 250 office bearers and members of the socio-religious organization. The highlight of the event is deliberations on how to spread Gurmat principles effectively amongst different segments of society with the primary focus being on youth. GGSSC is recognized as Messenger of Peace by UNESCO and its Chief Secretary Pirthi Singh said, that today we have released our Annual report which was done by S. Avtar S Makkar, President, SGPC. We are committed to the spread of education, women empowerment and propagation of languages & culture. The annual programme will analyse our efforts to date and the future course of action. It is noteworthy to mention that we as an organization have decided to work in close coordination with ISTRI SATSANG SABHAS and other women associations to fight against the indecent use of women in advertisements. GGSSC has made an ambitious road map.  It plans to have as many as 150 camps across India which will focus on personality development of youth.    To encourage non-professional recitation of Gurbani and Kirtan, the organization has strategized to involve 11,000 students in reading of Gurbani by starting 'Sehaj Path' in one year.  GGSSC is also actively working towards holding Gurmat crash courses in Western countries like Canada.
