Chandigarh 12th November:-- A blood donation camp was organized today by the NSS unit and Red Ribbon Society of MCM DAV College for Women, Chd in association with PGIMER,Chandigarh and sponsored by Lion's Club Chandigarh (Prosperity) witnessed an overwhelming response from the students and staff of MCM alike. The chief guest at the occasion was Dr. Yogesh Chawla, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Various other dignitaries from Lions Club Chd including Lion Yogesh Soni and Lion RK Rana motivated the students at event with their galvanising presence.
The camp registered a total of 612 donors. The blood donors of MCM contributed a laudable total of 226 blood bags. The donors will be awarded certificates and donor cards which will allow them to avail blood bags from PGI in times of need.
The Chief Guest Dr. Yogesh Chawla, Director, PGIMER was all praises for the humane and innovative endeavor of the college. The medical staff of PGI applauded the value based education system at MCM for enthusing such sense of responsibility into the students.
The Principal of the college Dr.Puneet Bedi commended the spirited participation and lauded the agglomerated efforts of the organizers to initiate a drive to cater to the needs of fellow beings. She emphasized on the need to recognize and work towards the fulfillment of such humanitarian causes which helps in shaping the students into dignified and empathic citizens.
