Chandigarh 10th October:--- The officials of the Sanitation Wing carried out a Sanitation Campaign for further boosting the maintenance of sanitation in Hallomajra Village today.
This campaign was carried out in addition to regular sanitation by deploying additional 22 Safai karamcharies in small groups under the close supervision of the Sanitary Inspectors for getting the public places etc. swept in order to maintain the sanitation status. Dumper placers, Tractor Trolleys and cycle rickshaw carts were deployed for lifting road side waste/garbage containers/horticulture waste etc. Lime dusting was done at all vulnerable places to avoid fly nuisance. The printed leaflets were made available in Hindi/ English to the residents to dispose off their waste with door to door collector and also to segregate the waste as to dry/ wet waste separately. It was insisted upon that the sanitation can only be maintained till the residents/ NGOs get themselves involved and carry out such campaigns 7 in their own vicinity so as to built up the social pressures which will not only keep the area clean but will also ensure that the residents are free from fly nuisance and various diseases.
