Haryana Innovation To Give 34 Awards to the Youth for Providing Innovative Ideas

Chandigarh 12th August:-- Haryana Innovation Council will give 34 awards to the youth for providing innovative ideas for improving governance, public service and technology under Youth Ingenuity Appreciation Awards.

While stating this here today, Mrs.Dheera Khandelwal, Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department said that the awards would be given for two categories namely Scheme Related Ideas and Technology Related Ideas. The applicants would have to send their ideas by September 5 by email to myideaharyana@gmail.com in a word document. The subject line of the email must contain 'Young Thinkers'. The ideas could also be sent by post to Science and Technology Department, Bay No. 35-38, sector-2, Panchkula, she added. She said that the recommendations should be constructive and innovative in nature aimed at improvement of a government scheme or programme and its delivery. It should not be in the nature of a complaint or grievance redressal. For proposing new scheme, the objective, the mechanism and the output results should clearly be mentioned. Similarly, the innovative ideas on technology related schemes should be clear, cogent and implementable, resulting in cost effectiveness and savings or should make life easier. The entry should contain a write up demonstrating a deep understanding of a government scheme or programme operational in the State, as well as recommendations for effecting improvements in its design, content and delivery. The ideas must be implementable keeping in view the social, economic, cultural and geographic conditions of the State. The write up should not be more than five pages, she added.  Mrs. Khandelwal said that on receipt of applications, a processing committee would segregate them category wise and evaluate their contents and short list the applicants, list out the department in respect of which ideas have been received. A seminar or workshop would be organized where in the short listed applicants would be given the opportunity to present their novel ideas which are expected to be specific, executable, cost effective and replicable. The youth in the age group of 16 to 35 are eligible for providing innovative ideas for this award.
