India’s Most Vibrant National Theatre Festival "Rangrezz" Successfully Hosted at Chitkara University Punjab

Chandigarh, Nov. 20, 2025:-Chitkara University Punjab, successfully hosted the return of Rangrezz, one of India's most vibrant national theatre festivals. The edition brought together theatre groups, storytellers, performers and students from across the country for two days of creative expression, cultural dialogue and artistic celebration. With the theme Dastaan – Journeys in Rhythm, Stories in Motion. Rangrezz 2025 celebrated the profound power of storytelling in its many forms, honouring India's rich narrative traditions from ancient courts and village squares to contemporary stages.

This year's festival showcased an impressive range of performances, including impactful Nukkad Natak presentations on social issues, proscenium plays by national and university teams, monologues and movement pieces by emerging artists, creative games, audience engagement activities, and student showcases that reflected campus creativity and cultural identity.

Participants delivered exceptional performances across categories, with over several institutions standing out. Students from more than 15 states participated in the national theatre festival organized by Chitkara University The winners from the Monologue category, Street Play category, and Stage Play category belonged to different parts of the country including Gwalior and Haryana. The winners received their award from Dr Niyati Chitkara, Vice President and Director Chitkara International Schools.

Reflecting on the success of the festival, Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor  Chitkara University, said that Rangrezz has always been a celebration of creativity, courage and community. Mohali, Nov. 20, 2025:-Students from Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2 have qualified for the CBSE National-Level Competitions following their outstanding performance at the CBSE Science Exhibition 2025-26 under the sub-theme 'Water Conservation and Management'. The school team participated in Category I (Classes 6-8) under the main theme "STEAM for Developed and Aatmanirbhar Bharat" at the Regional Level Exhibition held at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula.

During the exhibition, Class VIII students Manavjit Singh and Vansh Jamwal presented an innovative model for water conservation named 'Smart Rain Water Harvesting and Monitoring System'. Their project focused on preventing water wastage and ensuring its efficient use by employing modern technology. Their model was selected as one of the best, and the students were chosen for the next stage, the National Competitions, where they will compete with schools from all over the country.

Expressing his joy over the success, Vansh Jamwal said that We believe that water conservation is the need of the hour, and we are very happy to contribute to the service of the nation through our project.

Director Principal of Gian Jyoti Global School, Ms. Ranjit Bedi, congratulated the students on this achievement. उन्होंने कहा कि खेल जगत के आइकॉन भी यही संदेश देते हैं—पी.वी. सिंधु ने चोटों के बीच प्रशिक्षण जारी रखा, नीरज चोपड़ा ने मोटापे और बुलिंग से लड़ाई लड़ी, और मैरी कॉम ने गरीबी और आलोचनाओं के बावजूद सफलता हासिल की। हर चैम्पियन के सफर में आँसू, दर्द और संघर्ष होते हैं, लेकिन दृढ़ निश्चय उन्हें विजेता बनाता है।

Max Docs Successfully Treat Guillain-Barré Syndrome, Restore 63 Year Old Mobility

Chandigarh, Nov.20, 2025:- Doctors at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali successfully treated a 63-year-old man diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a neurological disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves, leading to weakness and paralysis. The life-saving treatment was led by Dr. Sawan Kumar Verma, associate director neurology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali and his team.

Satpal Singh (63) from Patran in Punjab was brought to the emergency of Max with rapidly progressing weakness in his limbs. He initially developed weakness in both lower limbs, which then progressed to involve the upper limbs over a duration of 5–7 days. Within the next few days, his condition had worsened to the point where he could barely stand or move independently. After a detailed neurological evaluation and diagnostic tests, Dr. Verma and his team diagnosed GBS.

The patient was immediately started on immunoglobulin therapy according to his body weight, administered over 5 days from the day of his admission. This immunotherapy was aimed at halting the immune system's attack on the nerves and promoting recovery.

Dr. Sawan Kumar Verma said that GBS is a challenging condition where early recognition and prompt treatment can make all the difference. In Satpal's case, our goal was to stop the disease progression quickly and support his body's natural healing process. By the end of the immunoglobulin course and at the time of discharge, he had started showing minor improvement. With continued intensive medical care, rehabilitation and physiotherapy, he went on to make significant recovery, and on follow-up after two months, he had regained his strength and mobility and was largely able to walk again independently.

Following comprehensive treatment and physiotherapy support, Satpal has now returned to his normal life, a heartening outcome for both the patient and the medical team. 

VFS Global Awarded Global Contract to Process Visas to Slovakia from 83 Countries, including India, as Visitor Numbers Increase

Chandigarh, Nov. 19, 2025:-VFS Global, the world's largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions, has been awarded a global contract to process visa applications to Slovakia.

 

The five-year contract, awarded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Republic, covers both short stay (C) visas—for visits up to 90 days within Slovakia or the Schengen area for tourism, business, or family travel—and long stay (D) visas issued for stays exceeding 90 days, typically for work or study.

 

Under the contract, VFS Global will provide visa services across 83 countries, including India, operating visa application centres in 159 cities.

 

This includes opening 87 new visa application centres in 41 countries in January 2026, with an additional 72 centres in 42 countries expected to open over the course of the contract.

 

The opening of the centres will help meet traveller demand, with Slovakia experiencing a steady increase  in international visitors. The country recorded more than 2.16 million visitors in the year to December 2024, a 3.9% increase on the previous year.

 

The highest demand for visa applications over the contract term is expected from India, Turkey, Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates, together accounting for approximately 70 % of the total projected volume. Slovakia's appeal as a destination is fuelled by its cultural heritage, mountain and spa tourism, and opportunities for longer stays, including work and education. The expanded network of VFS Global centres will help meet the growing demand, providing applicants with greater accessibility, convenience, and efficiency.

स्थानीय कांग्रेस पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेताओं ने भारत के विकास में उनके अमूल्य योगदान को याद करते हुए कहा कि इन्दिरा सरकार ने 1974 में पोखरण में एक सफल ऐटमी विस्फोट करके पहली बार भारत को एक परमाणु शक्ति संपन्न देश  बनाया। इससे पश्चिमी ताकतें अत्यधिक नाराज़ हो गईं और उन्होंने भारत पर आर्थिक प्रतिबंध लगाकर उनकी सरकार को अस्थिर करने की लगातार कोशिशें की ।

कांग्रेस नेताओं ने एकसुर मे आगे  कहा कि बैंकों के राष्ट्रीयकरण जैसे उनके क्रांतिकारी कदम को कोई नहीं भूल सकता, जिससे आम आदमी भी बैंकों में जमा धनराशि से कर्ज़ लेकर अपने काम धंधे कर पाया।

India Needs National COPD Prevention, Control Program: Dr Gursewak Singh

Dr. Hitesh Gaur said that COPD is 3^rd largest killer after heart problems & cancer worldwide. Many people mistake their increased breathlessness and coughing as a normal part of aging. In the early stages of the disease, one may not notice the symptoms,

Dr. Gaur further said that COPD can develop for years without noticeable shortness of breath.

He informed that you begin to see the symptoms in the more developed stages of the disease. COPD is a progressive form of lung disease ranging from mild to severe. It is characterized by a restriction of airflow into and out of the lungs that makes breathing difficult.

Dr Kshitiz Vashista said that COPD affects nearly 63 million people in India, which is about 32 % of the world's COPD population.

Dr. Vashista informed that COPD causes more deaths than AIDS, TB, malaria & diabetes all put together. COPD most often occurs in people 40 years of age and older who have a history of smoking. These may be individuals who are current or former smokers. COPD prevalence is around 5.5 to 7.55% in Indian. Recent studies suggest the prevalence rate of COPD in males is as high as 22% in men and 19% in females.

According to Dr Gursewak Singh, there is no permanent cure for COPD, but treatment options are available to prevent more damage and improve quality of life.

Dr Abhisekh Kumar said that India's COPD death rates are among World's highest with 98 per 1 lakh of population, which is three times the American rate of 33 deaths per 1 lakh of population.

Dr. Gaur said that early screening can identify COPD before major loss of lung function occurs.

He concluded by saying that lost cases of COPD are caused by inhaling pollutants; that includes smoking and second-hand smoke. Main risk factors of COPD, which is smoking, accounts for 46 % of cases, followed by Outdoor & Indoor pollution which account for 21% COPD cases and occupation exposure to gases and Fumes account for 16 % cases of COPD.  Genetics can also play a role in an individual's development of COPD—even if the person has never smoked or has ever been exposed to strong lung irritants in the workplace.

COPD risk factors:

·       A history of childhood respiratory infections

·       Smoke exposure from coal or wood burning stove

·       Exposure to second-hand smoke

·       People with a history of asthma

·       People who have underdeveloped lungs  

·       Those who are 40 and older as lung function declines as you age.

Signs and symptoms of COPD:

·       Chest tightness

·       Chronic cough that may produce clear, white, yellow or green mucus

·       Frequent respiratory infections

·       Lack of energy

·       Unintended weight loss

·       Shortness of breath

·       Swelling in the ankles, feet or legs
