Chandigarh 30th July:- Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group, today announced that it plans to increase prices of its passenger vehicles by up to Rs. 30,000 or 2%. This will be effective August 2018.
Commenting on the price hike Rajan Wadhera, President -Automotive Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said that with the ongoing increase in commodity prices we plan to take a price hike of up to 2% in some models.

Chandigarh 30th July:- Brilliance World School, Sector 12 celebrated colours week for the toddlers of their school. The parents were provided with a schedule before-hand, which specified different colours for each day of the week. This enabled the school to maintain a vibe throughout the day and essentially impart the essence of each colour to the students. Each and every movement was in accordance with the colour of the day, from the dresses of the children to the theme of the drawings, to the colour of their lunches and to the games and rhymes.
Principal Niranjana Chatterjee said that our motive is to always help children indulge in creative activities, hone their capabilities, increase their knowledge and remain joyful.
The idea was to emphasis the significance of each and every colour provided by nature and to give children an opportunity to learn and enjoy numerous activities thoroughly, while being enveloped in the world of colours, throughout the week.

Chandigarh 30th July:- The national award winner writer-director Sachin Gupta today holded a press conference for his upcoming Hindi movie "Pakhi" at Chandigarh. The leads of the movie Anamika Shukla, Sumeet Kant Kaul, Anmol Goswami and director Sachin Gupta shared their experiences about the movie with the media.
The film Pakhi is the story of a 10-year old girl who is about to get married and is trapped in the world of web trafficking. While the subject of prostitution and child trafficking stays a matter of concern, the film aims to address what goes on behind the cruel business which sees the highest violations of agency, freedom, and esteem. For instance, the pre-puberty treatments that the women are subjected to for the flesh trade to flourish. Pakhi is based on true events and is all set to rejig the cinematic perspectives with a plot which explores the depth of societal distress and the value of human lives. Pakhi, a social crime drama discusses the dark world of child trafficking which is plaguing our society at large with a completely fresh perspective. Set in the times of a natural conflict for existence, it explores and exposes the dark realities behind the world of human trafficking. With estimated 27 million adults and 13 million children around the world who are victims of human trafficking, "Pakhi" becomes a subject that records the highest violations and yet a subject, so obvious a subject talked about. With the refreshing plot of conflict, survival, and triumph over the circumstances, "Pakhi" is set to bring the society close to a mirror they cannot escape without introspecting.
When Sachin Gupta is asked about his work he said that let the force be with you. We all are Pakhi and responsible for the creation of 'her'- #IAmPakhi". Sachin Gupta, a National award 'Natya Bhushan' winning Indian film-maker and writer has directed "Pakhi" with his vision of meaningful and societal retrospective cinema. Sachin is known for his work in the field of theatre, having 14 original plays and 4 screenplays to his credit. He made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Paranthe Wali Gali (2014) which he produced under his production banner, Chilsag Pictures, a production house he established in 2012.
Expressing his opinion on the matter, Sachin Gupta said that when even after 73 years of Independence we are witnessing social practices like a girl getting married off at a tender age and pushed into the cycle of flesh trade, where is this freedom or where is it leading us? When there is the right to life for the children of free India, where are we standing as moral humans? It is time we talk about what the trade encompasses when lives of women are branded. This film talks a sincere effort towards it". At the conference, Gupta also discussed about running a campaign #IAmPakhi on social media that will highlight the issue and this Independence Day, it could be a step to free the Pakhi that we all are passively responsible for.

Chandigarh 28th July:- Dr Sarabjeet Singh a Speaker of acclaim in the field of orthodontics has been invited by the Prestigious Belgium orthodontic society to deliver a Guest lecture on Speedo Orthodontics on 27th July,2018 .He is also the scientific co-chairperson of the prestigious conference in Belgium.
The gathering comprised of eminent orthodontists and post graduates of Belgium. The lecture was presided by Dr .Mila Gregor, President of Belgium Orthodontic Society and Dr Shailesh Deshmukh, President of Indian Orthodontic society.
Dr Sarabjeet laid strong emphasis on the fast and rapidly changing scenario in the field of orthodontics. He appriased the gathering about the newer and more advanced procedures in Orthodontics. He also highlighted the fact that with the advent of time shortened conservative interventions which are now available today for treating malocclusions namely lasers and self ligations and medications have the potential to immensely benefit the patients for whom oral hygiene and shorter treatment time is a top priority.
He said that Speedo Orthodontics is changing the way orthodontics is and will be perceived in the future.

Chandigarh 28th July:- Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd.) PGIMER-GMCH Chandigarh organized its 177th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in PGI Chandigarh. It is this Association's eighth Blood Donation Camp in this series of Blood Donation Camps organized during summer month, when acute shortage of blood is faced by Blood Bank of PGI, owing to non-availability of enough donors due to exams-vacations in school/colleges.
This Camp was inaugurated by Gopal K Wadhwa, Chairman, Jullundur Hotel-22 & Hotel JH EI8GHTEEN, Chandigarh. He is a well known Philanthropist and Hotelier of city beautiful Chandigarh, who has not only been providing financial and moral support to our Charitable NGO for decades, but also participating alongwith family members, relatives and Hotel Staff for donating blood in our Camps. During this camp, Chief Guest Gopal K Wadhwa and his family also donated blood. May God Bless whole family a good health long lives and prosperity.
In this Camp 278 voluntary blood donors donated blood for Blood Bank of PGI Chandigarh. While honouring the blood donors by handing over mementoes to them, he applauded them for participating in this noble cause of blood donation and also for promoting Blood Donation Movement in the country. In the above mentioned 8 Blood Donation Camps organized by the Association an aggregate of 1897 numbers of voluntary blood donors donated blood.

Chandigarh 28th July:- Dikshant School has announced a unique initiative to give a fillip to its students, who are interested in writing & illustration by helping them publish their works. The curator of the programme is Chatura Rao, an award-winning journalist and an author who writes for both children and adults. Chairman of Dikshant School Mitul Dikshit and Chatura Rao, unveiled the unique project -- 'Launching Young Writers'.
Mitul Dikshit said that the programme is aimed at getting the work of students published in the form of a book- 'Young Voices , 2018-Poems & Stories by students of Dikshant School'. The same allows students to get trained by some of the most renowned writers who specialize in different genres of writing through creative writing workshops. The project covers 11 creative writing workshops in different genres of writing spread over the year.
He added that the selection procedure of the students for a particular workshop is based on predefined criteria and the interest of the student in a particular genre. The selected students get trained on developing their craft during the two-day workshop led by these authors. They are then given one week of time to fine-tune their work and submit their writing/illustration to the authors. The writers give direct feedback to students for their work. The best of work will get selected for a collaborative book which will be edited by Chatura Rao, who is also the festival director of Chandigarh Children's Literature Festival organized by Dikshant School every year in Association with Adab Foundation.
Chatura Rao, the curator of the 'launching young writers' program added that impressed by the active participation of students of Dikshant at various editions of Chandigarh Children's Literature Festival which she curated, She realized that students are now ready for the next stage of their literary journey, which is getting published. The programme is designed with an aim of giving students a unique experience which will give them a lifelong learning, confidence and direction.
The authors who will engage students are Samina Mishra (Poetry), Lavanya Karthik (Adventure Stories), Adithi Rao (Scary stories), Devika Rangachari (Historical Fiction), Srivi kalian(Nature and conservation), Ranjit Lal (Animal Stories), Chatura Rao(Journalism), Nandhika Nambi (Teenage stories), Lovleen Mishra (Hindi poetry & fiction) and Tanvi Bhatt (illustration).

Chandigarh 27th July:- The Board of Directors of L&T Finance Holdings Ltd. (LTFH), at its meeting held today, approved the unaudited financial results for quarter ended 30thJune 2018 (Q1FY19).
In line with direction from Ministry of Corporate Affairs, LTFH has adopted Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS) with effect from 1st April 2018. Results of Q1FY19 are prepared and reported in compliance with IND AS requirements. Additionally, for the same quarter of previous year (Q1FY18), figures have been recast to fit IND AS requirements.
Commenting on the results and financial performance, Dinanath Dubhashi, Managing Director & CEO, LTFH, said that we continue on the journey of improving our RoE through continuously enhancing our competitive position, strong NIMs + fees, tight cost controls and improving asset quality. Retailisation of our book, and usage of digital and data analytics remains pivotal to our strategy. We have now provided for the legacy Infra stressed book. For Q1FY19, we have achieved RoE of 18.45% which is within the steady state range. Having reached the steady state range of RoE, our focus will be on maintaining it through responsible growth and minimizing sigma by tightly managing all families of risk.

Organizations need to shift the dial from awareness to actualization, by deploying 'learning & development' solutions to equip employees with 'future ready skills' pertaining to emerging technologies and develop enhanced capabilities for driving business results in this new world.
Visualizing the Future: It is easier to plan and execute if the future is reasonably predictable. However, the exponentially increasing scope of AI and robotics is making it difficult to understand the scope of re-training or re-skilling. Thus the re-training schedule will have to deliver an on-demand, need based, seamless and personalized learning experience. While lifelong learning has become cliché in HR circles, there is a need to break the psychological barrier and enable the trend of re-skilling in mid-life professionals and entrepreneurs. This is not only to add value to the same job, but sometimes even re-skill completely to shift focus to different areas during the 40s and 50s. Fortunately, we are seeing progressive corporations in our own country spend time and resources to re-skill employees in futuristic technologies.
