CBI Arrest BSNL-GM For Bribery of Rs.2 Lac

Chandigarh 28^th June:- The Central Bureau of Investigation has caught red handedly the General Manager Chander of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL),of Karnal (Haryana) for demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.2 Lakh from the Complainant. The accused will be produced today in the Designated Court at Panchkula.

 

A case was registered under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Chander on the allegations of demanding bribe of Rs. Three Lakhs from the Complainant, who was serving as a JTO in BSNL at Karnal, for showing favor to him in a departmental enquiry being conducted against him.

 

 According to CBI release, the CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.Two Lakhs from the Complainant. Searches were carried out at the official residence of the accused at Karnal and at his house in New Delhi. A cash to the tune of Rs.6.50 Lakhs(Approx), gold/jewellery and documents related to property & other investments were recovered.

Governor, Launch Website for SC/ST Students

Chandigarh 28^th June:- Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh has dedicated a special website www.scstscholarships.com for SC/ST/OBC students of India. This website was launched by Shivraj V Patil, Governor (Punjab) and Administrator (Chandigarh) at Punjab Raj Bhawan in a programme. This website contains every state's information regarding SC/ST/OBC scholarships. It also helps the students in getting offline career counselling for various career options available to them.

 

While launching the website, Shivraj Patil said that this is a good initiative taken by Aryans to make the SC/ST/OBC students aware about various Govt Sponsored scholarship schemes available to them. He added that this is need of the hour to educate these students about their rights so that they may get the best use out of it. Governor further said that in the Eleventh Five Year Plan, an amount of around 5300 crores was allocated for special schemes for SCs. But many students especially of rural areas can't take advantage of this amount due to lack of information. Aryans has provided one platform for these students where they can get each and every information.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges said that due to lack of information, many SC/ST/OBC students are not able to avail the benefits of the scholarships being given to them by Central and State Govt. He added that the motive to develop this Website is to provide a single platform for society in which information related to each n every state can be fetched easily. Having Look on this website may save lot of time for Applying in Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST or BC. It is worth mentioning that the SC population constituted 16.2% of the total population in census 2001 and has increased marginally around 16.9% in census 2011. People belonging to SC communities are spread all over the country, with about 80% of them living in the rural areas. Around half of the SC population is concentrated in the 5 states of UP, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. It is to be mentioned that there are various scholarship schemes available for Minority Students like Post Matric Scholarship, Pre Matric Scholarship etc. Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme has been solely put forth to offer financial support to the economically weaker students from the ST, SC & OBC students. This scheme offers Scholarships for the students to pursue Professional and Non- Professional courses after Matriculation. This initiative is aimed to facilitate faster and efficient disposal of scholarship applications and timely payment of the scholarships to the students. Post Matric Scholarship is the single largest intervention by the Government of India for educational empowerment of SCs. It provides scholarships to about 48 lakh SC students for pursuing higher education in various courses beyond matriculation. Under the scheme, 100% central assistance is provided to States/UTs over and above their committed liability except for North east states where committed liability is not applicable to them.

 

​Blood Donation Camp Organise in Memory of Renowned shooter (Nannu) Sidhu.

Mohali 27^th June:-- Late Prabhsimran Singh (Nannu) Sidhu memorial trust, in collaboration with Emerging India welfare association, Ambreen infratech private limited, Punjabi culture & welfare society (Regd.) Sukhdev Singh Gill memorial welfare club (Regd.) has organised a huge blood donation camp at Gurdwara Sachadhan sahib Phase 3B1. Doctors team from PGI &Govt. Medical College & Hospital Sector 32 Chandigarh and Civil Hospital SAS Nagar were collecting the blood units.

 Elected member of Lak Sabha constituency Anandpur Sahib & General Secretary Siromani Akali Dal Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that Blood donation is a great contribution, as it saves lived. He said that the donated blood always provide a hope for the person fighting in between life & death. It is a ray of hope for many endangered lives. He said that on the 4th anniversary this was 8th blood donation camp. He said that this blood donation camp will be motivating factor for the youths, as such these camps should be organised by other social organisations too.

 

BANK VAN ROBBERY:5 Lac Looted in Khudda Alisher,Chandigarh

Chandigarh 27^th June:- ट्राईसिटी में लुटेरों के हौंसले बुलंद है आये दिन लुटेरे बेख़ौफ़ होकर किसी न किसी वरदात को अँजाम दें रहें हैँ। ताजा मामला चंडीगढ़ के खुड्डा  अलीशेर का है जहाँ हथियारबंद लुटेरो ने स्टेट बैंक ऑफ पटियाला की  कैश वैन से करीब 5 लाख की लूट को अंजाम दिया है।  घटना के समय कैश वैन सेकटर 17 की मेन ब्रांच से कैश लेकर खुड्डा अलीशेर की स्टेट बैंक ऑफ पटियाला की ब्रांच पहुंचि थी।  कैश वैन जैसे ही खुड्डा अलीशेर की ब्रांच के पास रूकीं तो पहले स उन्का पिछा क़र  रहीं एक कार सेँ 5 के करीब नकाबपोश लुटेरे उतरे जबकि कुछ अन्य लुटेरे गाडी मे ही बैठे थे। गाड़ी से उतरे तीन हथियारबंद लुटेरों ने  कैश वैन के सुरक्षा गार्ड जगतार सिंह को पकड़ लिया जबकि अन्य दो लुटेरे कैश वैन में पडे कैश बॉक्स क़ो लूटने लगें यह देख कर बैंक में मौजूद सूरक्षा कर्मी मोहन सिंह  भी बाहेर आक़र लुटेरों से भिड गया।  इस हाथापाई मे सूरक्षा कर्मी लुटेरो से कैश वैन मे नगदी से भरे दो बोक्स  छुड़वाने मे क़ामयाब रहे जब्कि लुटेरे केश से भरा इक बोक्स लेकर वहॉँ से भाग निकले जिसमे करीब पाँच लाख की नगदी थीं।  इस हाथापाई के दौरान बैंक का सुरक्षा कर्मी मोहन सिंह घायल भी हूआ हैं। सूचना मिलने पर मौके पर पहुंची पुलिस ने घटनास्थल का जायजा लिया जबकि सभी सुरक्षा कर्मियों व कैश वैन में मौजूद अन्य स्टाफ से पुलिस पूछताछ कर रही है।वहीँ लुटेरों को पकड़ने के लिए पुलिस ने डीएसपी क्राइम ब्रांच ,डीएसपी ऑपरेशन सेल व डीएसपी सेंट्रल क़ी अगुवाही में तीन टीमें बनायी है जो जगह -जगह छापेमारी कर लुटेरों के सुराग़ तलाशने मे जुटी हैं।

 

बैंक के सुरक्षा कर्मी मोहन सिंह ने बताया कि जैसे ही उसने कैश वैन से लूट होते देखी तो उसने लुटेरों से कैश बॉक्स छुड़वाने क़ी कोशिश की लेकिन लुटेरो ने उसे घायल कर दिया और वह तीन केश बॉक्स में से एक़ केश बोक्स लजाने मे क़ामयाब रहें।

 

वहीँ कैश वैन के सुरक्षा कर्मी जगतार सिंह के अनुसार कार से निकलें तीन लुटेरो नें उसे पकड़ लिया जबकि  दो लुटेरों ने कैश वैन में पडे कैश बॉक्स लूटने का प्रयास किया इस दौरान उनकी लुटेरों से जमकर हाथपाई भी हुईं। जगतार सिंह ने बताया कि लुटेरे सफ़ेद रंग की कार मे आये थे जब्कि उनकी सँख्या 6 यां 7 के करीब थी।

 

वहीँ मौके पर पहुंचे चंडीगढ़ पुलिस के एसएसपी सुखचैन सिंह  गिल ने घटना कि जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि फिलहाल लुटेरों कि संखया ओर वारदात में इस्तेमाल की गयी गाड़ी का ठीक से पता नहीं चल पाया है जबकि लुटेरों की धड़पकड़ के लिए उन्होंने  डीएसपी क्राइम ,डीएसपी ऑपरेशन सेल व डीएसपी सेंट्रल क़ी अगुवाही में तीन टीमें बनायी है  जो लुटेरों का पता लगाने में जुटी है। उन्होंने बताया की लुटेरों का सुराग लगाने के लिए सुरक्षा कर्मियों  से भी पूछताछ की जा रही है।
