Chandigarh, Nov.24, 2021:- Grievance redressing system has taken a beating in UT over these years and nowadays there is no mechanism to look after genuine needs of people or there is no response system to meet queries of people. Being in public life we write many times to suggest the reforms or many people write about their problems but none is replied and as per an Army retired officer who had some o=issue with CREST never got any reply or clarification even after 1.5 years. For a mango tree he has met many officers but no solution was found.
Till 2015 Jan to be exact there was an Administrators Forum where people could write and within a month the person was called before all the officers in presence of administrator and solution found to his /her problems on the spot. But after that no administrator has followed the system.
Till a few days back there was a grievance portal on the Punjab Raj Bhawan where Chandigarh residents could raise the issues and these issues were sent to UT administration for action. Though this was a useless system but at least there is solace that matter has been raised with the administrator but a few days back updating the grievance on Raj Bhawan portal has been discontinued and a new Chandigarh Grievance system has been invented where the portal running at Raj Bhawan site has been shifted.
There is a letter Box for Administrators Open Forum but that is also defunct these days. The Undersigned has posted many issues of the grievance portal but seldom I can any reply whereas up to 2015 I used to present public issues before the administrator and many positive orders were made and my all issues were heard by all officers of UT
There is an urgent need to start the Open Forum of administrator to meet the needs of people.
