Chandigarh Oct. 19, 2021:- Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) visited GMSSS-8, Chandigarh to inspect the school in view of the safety & Security of the children. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson of the Commission was accompanied by Dr. Monica M Singh, Member, CCPCR, Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant, Chandigarh.
During the visit, the Commission inspected the classrooms and showed its satisfaction with the social distancing & masks being used by the children. It was observed by the Commission that the teachers of the school are paying their personal attention to the students to cover the gap.
Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR interacted with the students of the primary section and students participated enthusiastically. The Commission also suggested during its visit to start the Eco Club and sports activity with the participation of all the students. The school principal was apprised about the new initiative being taken to uplift the environment.
During the inspection, the Commission also found that in the building of the primary wing the glasses and nets of the windows were broken which is dangerous from the safety point of the students. Also the walls were badly damped and roofs needed proper cleanliness keeping in view the upcoming dengue threat. A lot of engineering work is to be urgently required which should have been done before the opening of the school.
