Chandigarh August 12, 2021:- Vishvas Foundation organized two blood donation camps in Chandigarh on the occasion of International Youth Day and to meet the shortage of blood in hospitals due to corona pandemic heat. Chandigarh Computer Traders Association, Traders Welfare Association Sector 22B and Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh supported these blood donation camps. 56 units of blood were collected in both the camps. Special care was taken in the camps for social distancing, masks and sanitization.
Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas, General Secretary of Vishvas Foundation said that the first camp was organized in Mobile Market Sector 22B, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Subhash Narang, President of the market. 21 blood donors donated blood in the camp. The team of Panchkula Welfare Trust collected blood under the supervision of Dr. Shruti Singla.
The second camp was organized in Sector 34A Chandigarh near the Passport Office. 35 units of blood were collected in this camp. The team of Blood Bank PGI Chandigarh collected blood under the supervision of Dr Apalak Garg. Along with this, a free ear, nose and throat checkup camp was also organized by Dr. Lovkesh Mittal from Excel ENT Centre, VIP Road, Zirakpur. In this, 20 people were examined and free medicines were also given on the spot as per the need.
Rakesh Kumari from Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch and from Vishvas Foundation, Avinash Sharma Varinder Gandhi, Vikas Kalia, Shatrughan Kumar, Vishal Kuwar, Neeraj Yadav and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion. All the blood donors who came to donate blood in the camps were encouraged by giving certificates of appreciation, masks, soaps, sanitizers and gifts.
