Chandigarh, June 23, 2021:- To mark International Yoga and Music Day an online workshop was organized on Wednesday which was attended by Bollywood actress Jonita Doda. Among others Shobhna Juneja , yoga and wellness coach and Dr Deepak Puri global chairman of Cardiomersion also participated in the workshop.
During the workshop the two interactive sessions including stress management and relaxing techniques of Yoga for healthcare workers fighting Covid and breathing techniques for management and rehabilitation of Covid patients were conducted by Shobhna Janeja.
During occasion, Dr Puri who is also a director of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at Max Hospital, Mohali highlighted that yoga and music can play major role in relieving stress and generating positive environment within our body that can help in preventing several lifestyle diseases like heart attacks , high blood pressure, diabetes various ,Cancers , depression and suicidal tendencies .
He emphasized that there is need for collaboration between clinicians and yoga as well as expert musicians to extend maximum benefits to improve physical, mental and social health of individuals from all age groups which includes not only youngsters but even elderly population especially during the Covid crisis which has produced devastating effects on the entire world.
The benefits of yoga and music on health have been extensively recognized globally but the scientific application of the benefits is possible only when the Doctors and Yoga Specialists come together and work together for the welfare of the society, he opined.
