Chandigarh June 16, 2021:- To meet the shortage of blood in hospitals due to Corona epidemic Vishvas Foundation and Traders Welfare Association Sector 22 B organized a blood donation camp in Mobile Market Sector-22B on Wednesday. Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh played an important role in this blood donation camp. During this special care was taken to protect against Covid-19 such as social distance, masks and sanitization.
The camp started at 11:30 am and went on till 4:00 pm. Blood was collected by the team of Blood Bank PGI Chandigarh under the supervision of Doctor Nipun Parija. The blood was collected in an air-conditioned mobile van sent by PGI Blood Bank Chandigarh. 32 blood donors donated blood voluntarily.
Sadhvi Neelima Vishvas General Secretary Vishvas Foundation said that the camp was inaugurated by Subhash Narang, President, Traders Welfare Association Sector 22B Chandigarh. Subhash Narang said that there is a misconception among people that donating blood causes weakness in the body. There is no weakness due to blood donation, rather everyone must donate blood once in 90 days. It helps the needy as well as keeps the body healthy. A virtuous act like donating blood comes in the greatest service.
At the end of the blood donation all the blood donors were honoured with appreciation letters, badges, masks, soaps and gifts.
On this occasion Rakesh Kumari Sehgal from Indian Red Cross Society Punjab State Branch, Chandigarh & from Vishvas Foundation Sadhvi Shakti Vishvas, Avinash Sharma, Varsha Sharma, Vikas Kalia, Varinder Gandhi, Rajinder Gulati and other dignitaries were also present.
