CCPCR Holds Online Awareness Session & Quiz Contest on Covid-19

Chandigarh, August 30, 2020:- Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) in collaboration with the Department of Education, U.T. Chandigarh has undertaken an awareness session and quiz on COVID-19, Mental Health, POCSO, Safety & Security in school. The program will conclude with a creative competition that aims to offer a platform to children to put forth their ideas and opinions. A total number of 16,763 children participated in the first day of contest which was on COVID-19 awareness. This participation is very encouraging and will be awarded also. 

The program intends to create awareness in children on how to protect oneself against coronavirus, hygienic rules, the importance of social distancing, psychological support during the quarantine and other useful tips for children. The material is being shared with children through CRC, counsellors and teachers.

While speaking on the occasion Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, CCPCR highlighted that We are delighted that the CCPCR program is reaching out to such a wider range of children. The awareness quiz was offered in tri-lingual languages i.e English, Hindi and Punjabi. The program is being coordinated by Chanchal Singh RTE Consultant, Ms. Niti Mohan, Empanelled Consultant and Kapil Sood overall programme coordinator, the program is a success. They have thoroughly worked to create and send the study material to the students through Google forms well in advance to prepare for the contest. The whole initiative focuses at mass awareness on the current crisis. The contests on mental health, POCSO and Drug Abuse is being conducted in as per the schedule.
