IJW’s Media Mega Summit Concludes: Journalists Honoured

Chandigarh 03rd July:- Working Journalist of India today organized Media Mega Summit which was presided by Bandaru Dattareya, Minister for Labour and Employment, Govt of India. He urged the media for their impartial, transparent, truth, positive, ethical and nationalist role for the all round the national development.

While extending thanks to Pawan Kumar, Zonal Organizational Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh and Nagendra Pal, State Secretary General, he said that their roles has made Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh to constituted Working Journalist Of India which is further creating history.
While recounting his earlier days, he said that he was in jail during emergency. He used to study in cell and he was always inspired by the writing of journalists. He wrote 145 letters to than Chief Minister Rajshekhar Reddy to address the problems of state.

He said that for Working Journalist Act, a review meeting to attain labour rights will be called which will be attended by all media representatives of Web-Digital Social Broadcast and Electronic Media. This will be followed by a meeting with Chief Ministers and Labour
Ministers of respective states so give a new dimension for the enactment of Working Journalist Act.

During the occasion, Pawan Kumar, Zonal Organizational Secretary, Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh stressed upon certain provisions of journalist class which includes social security, equal work–equal pay, abolishment of contractual basis job, dissolvement of Press Council to
constitute Media Council. Minister also made his consent to bring media reforms in favour of journalists.
Present on the occasion, Dr. Harshvardhan, Minister for Science & Technology, Govt of India said that  journalists should always fight for their rights and problems, but also continue to balance with positive reporting and national interests in mind.

While addressing the forum, Mahesh Giri, another parliamentarian from East Delhi said that Journalists are the mirror of truth. A true journalist reveals the truth and problems of society but nowadays this class is going through a tough time and challenges. For that they need to struggle for their right.

Sanjeev Shekhar, President, Working Journalist of India and Narender Bhandari, General Secretary expressed their thanks to journalists for the successful event. Chief Guests also unveiled the souvenir "Words Voice'. Noted journalist Vijay Kranti, BS Bhati, President, BMS, Delhi and General Secretary Nagendra Pal also briefed the journalists during the occasion. The event was coordinated by Parminder Pal, a spokesperson of DSGMC.
