MCM Welcomes Freshers in Unique Induction cum Freshers Event

Chandigarh 20th July:-  MCM DAV College for Women organized an Induction cum Freshers function to welcome newcomers and to familiarize them with the virtuous value system of the region's leading college. This unique annual feature of the college is an innovative way of making the freshers feels at home. Renowned actress Kulraj Randhawa, who is known for her portrayal of empowered woman, graced the occasion with her presence, enthusing vitality into the event. Sensitizing the students about women empowerment, Ms. Randhawa exhorted the students to work for the betterment of their lot by taking up the cause of women education.

The function began with a presentation highlighting the glorious history and illustrious achievements of the college. In an attempt to motivate newcomers to carry forward the legacy of excellence at MCM, outstanding Alumna Achievers and university toppers of session 2015-16 were felicitated.

Various infotaining activities kept the audience spellbound. The rules and regulations of the college were introduced to the students in a novel manner through an entertaining skit that had the audience in splits. While a presentation on the add-on courses offered by the college effectively drove home the importance of these courses in imparting an edge to one's career, dances from various parts of the country added to entertainment quotient of the event. The students were also apprised of the various committees functional in the college and were also advised to abide by the anti ragging norms.

MCM Ms. Fresher Contest was the highlight of the function where confident beauties with brains walked down the ramp for the coveted title. Prineet was crowned Ms.Fresher while Sushmita Negi and Jasmine Kohli walked away with 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up title, respectively.

MCM Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava, in her address, congratulated the freshers for making it to a unique seat of learning that transforms aspiring young students into leaders of tomorrow and produces good citizens with a strong national character.
