Chandigarh 12th January:- Joint Pain is a chronic& debilitating disease that affects the lives of millions of people across the globe. In one national survey, it was found that the disease affects people of all age groups, not only the elderly. In fact, over one-third of young adults are also suffering from Joint Pain or Arthritis in medical terms. There are over 100 different forms of Arthritis; the most common being Osteoarthritis.
Joint Pain is generally treated with anti-inflammatory medicines, painkillers and home remedies to get relief from pain. However these treatments are aimed at only treating the symptoms rather than the disease itself, and the success rate of these treatments in the long run is not predictable. For patients suffering from arthritis and injury of the ligaments, or patients who have been advised knee replacement surgery, an innovative and non-invasive treatment of Arthritis known as Electro Magnetic Regenerative Therapy (EMRT) has been introduced by Chandan hospital located in Mohali. This is a revolutionary machine-based treatment that has been imported from Germany and is available only at a very few centers in India.
Dr. Chandandeep Singh Sandhu, Founder & Director of Chandan Hospital, Mohali said that EMRT is a unique form of electromagnetic regeneration treatment for treating damaged structures such as cartilage, intervertebral discs, bones, the attachment points of tendons, ligament etc.. The technology produces an electromagnetic field through which a pulsed (electrical) signal is directed to the affected area, reactivating the body's own repair system, speeding up the healing process. Dr. Chandandeep Singh further said that it is an innovative technological advanced form of therapy that uses a non-invasive medical device to treat arthritis, osteoporosis, stress fractures and the mal-union of broken bones. What makes this treatment unique is that it merges traditional and non-traditional medical care. While the therapy harnesses the body's own ability to heal it-self (a non-traditional approach), the technology has gone through scientifically rigorous clinical trials with proven successes and patient benefits.
Dr. Chandandeep Singh Sandhu explained that the treatment is administered in 12 sessions of 60 min each, conducted under the supervision of a trained EMRT therapist with the prime goal of achieving both short and long term reduction of pain, improved physical resilience and increased joint function.
As shown through studies and the results of thousands of actual cases, 83% of patients experience a reduction in pain and inflammation, combined with an increase in physical function. Some patients find themselves free of all symptoms following the treatment; others find their symptoms greatly reduced. Most Patients have reported being able to return to normal routine activities, and many are able to participate in their favorite sports. The biggest benefit for many patients is the ability to avoid the expense, pain and inherent risk of joint replacement surgery.
