CGC Jhanjeri Students Visit Markfed Plant Mohali

Chandigarh 07th April:- The students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, visited Markfed's Mohali plant where students got a chance to interact with one of the largest marketing co-operative Federations of Asia. Markfed has won recognition and a number of awards from Govt. of India in various fields of excellence. During the visit of the students, plant manager C.M. Sharma explained various aspects of production right from raw material to the final output. The students also learnt about the quality control & various checks involved in it. C.M.Sharma also explained the packaging & distribution of the agro products being manufactured there. Then the students visited the dispatch depot where the Marketing Manager Bains explained various marketing strategies of Markfed and explained about the possibilities of making a lucrative career in Agro Marketing.

Commenting on the purpose of such industrial visits, S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC said that in classrooms, the students are given only the theoretical knowledge. Such visits give them a practical feel of what they are expected to do after completing their studies. Dr. G.D. Bansal, Director General, CGC said that such visits enhance the employability & successful working of students in the industry.
