Chandigarh 13th October:- In continuity of "Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan" the area falling under Sector 38 and 38 West of Municipal Corporation was cleared off. The garbage, horticulture waste, malba and other waste materials has been cleared off.
The Area councilor Arun Sood and other leaders also participated in the Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan. Extra manpower and machinery including road Sweeping machines, Dumper placers, Front End loaders and Tractor Trolleys were deployed to make the area free of garbage. The polythenes, scattered papers and other rags were also picked up by using specially made pokers. All the open spaces and parks were cleaned. A pledge was administered to the teachers and Students of the Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 38, Chandigarh to keep oneself clean, to devote time for cleanliness of one's house, school and surrounding areas. The students were also given health education regarding the importance of hand washing, keeping themselves & their surroundings neat and clean. The students participated in the cleanliness Campaign enthusiastically.
Total 20 sanitation challans were issued to the defaulters in respect of malba, wastage of water and littering in their respective houses/shops under Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (Sanitation and Public Health) Bye Laws, 1999.
