Mohali 05th July:-- With a view to provide delivery of services to the people of the state within time limits, Punjab Govt. has implemented the Right to Service Act and under this act as on now 149 services are being provided timely. Various departments have been directed to provide timely service delivery to facilitate the general public. This was stated by C. Roul, Principal Secretary Government Reforms, while he was addressing the press after reviewing the services being provided at DC Office, SSP Office, SDM Office, Tehsildar office & Civil Surgeon office at SAS Nagar.
C. Roul said that Govt. of Punjab is keen towards providing timely services under Right to Service Act to the general public & is working eagerly towards this. He said that complete record is being prepared for the services being provided by each department and it is being thoroughly inspected for timely service delivery. Efforts are also being done to provide better facilities & to adhere with the system for timely delivery of services. Besides this, proper feedback is also being sought from the officers & staff to improve the system for providing better results under Right to Service Act. C. Roul said that every department has been directed to strengthen its monitoring system to make a cross check on services being provided by the department. Besides this, a weekly report for the works done/ services provided will be prepared & priority will be given to the cases which are persistent from a long time. He said the strict action against officers for causing unnecessary delay. C. Roul reviewed the working of District Administrative Complex, Suvidha Centre, DC office, SDM Office, SSP Office, Passport verification Office, Arms Licence branch, & other services being provided to the Police department. He checked the services being provided for Death & birth registration at the office of Civil Surgeon at SAS Nagar. He directed the concerned officers to deal the cases which are lingering on from a long time & also directed to ensure timely re-dressal of these cases.
During this, SSP SAS Nagar Inder Mohan Bhatti, Additional Deputy Commissioner Puneet Goel, SDM Lakhmeer SIngh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Neelam Bhardwaj, District health officer H.S. Oberoi, In-charge Suvidha Centre Charanjeet Rai & other officers were also present.
