Mohali 05th May:-- Priority will be given to the general public for their works relating to govt. offices. Officers & staff in govt. offices should have a positive mental attitude towards general public, instead of harassing them. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was presiding over a special meeting with officers concerned at District Administrative Complex. He said that officers & staff of govt. offices are accountable to the general public.
Deputy Commissioner said that each & every official should perform his duty with full dedication & honesty. He said that before forwarding any file in front of him, it must contain a self explanatory note as per rules, along with comments of the dealing officer, so that the matter could be resolved timely. He directed the officers to change their work habits & said that for quick disposal of any case every officer should perform his duty with full dedication & all staff members should act as a team. He further said that corruption at any level will not be tolerable. He said that as such no case of grafting has came to his notice so far, but still if noticed in future than strict legal action against the defaulter will be initiated. He specially directed the officers & staff members of the DC office & said that in administration & other important woks of the district, this office plays a very prominent role. As such, staff & officers of this office should perform with dedication & honesty & to be an example for others.
Deputy Commissioner said that he in person will conduct sudden checking of office branches every week. He directed the officials to maintain the relevant record properly & keeping it in appropriate manner. He also directed the officials to intimate timely about the resources required, if any. So that timely action in this regard could be taken. He also directed the officers to be in time. Deputy Commissioner said that every branch head will be the in charge of his branch & will also be accountable, for absentees under him. He also directed to not to leave the office during lunch break.
