Chandigarh 01st October:- Modern day life has not only negatively impacted adults but has also created stress in children which may be related to everyday activities connected with school, academics, home environment etc. Keeping these aspects in mind Hallmark Public School, Panchkula invited Amar Chandel, an Author of world acclaim, a holistic healing expert and Haryana Rattan Awardee for year 2013 for an interactive session with students. The programme was aptly named 'Voyage from Stress to Serenity'. He enunciated the salients of his two books, 'Perfect Health in 20 Weeks' and 'Stress to Serenity'. The session proved to be a refreshing change for Hallmarkites who learnt how to keep excessive stress at bay and manage it properly. There were some meditative postures also exhibited which the students followed with enthusiasm. During the interaction Amar Chandel unveiled his holistic remain healthy regime. It was a combination of right food, good habits and right exercises meant to keep the body in shape.
According to Amar Chandel, the idea is that one should heal body without medicines since the body itself had a capability to self heal." He also highlighted how, modern day food has been impacting kids' health negatively. He said, "There are nine things to take care of to keep the body in shape: food, water, air or breathing, physical movement or exercise, rest, sleep, positive attitude, right social interaction, and - believe it or not - common sense. The students attending the session were awed by the frank and yet simple discourse of Amar Chandel. As he expertly told the children, to avoid stress and tension due to peer pressure, examinations, academics and parents' pressure to excel. He also autographed his book formally launched at Hallmark: Stress to Serenity, as he presented copies at the interaction with students.
Mrs. Kavita Wadhwa, Principal said, that stress is a scourge of the 21st century and even schoolchildren are feeling it. This activity was aimed at making students aware about the fallouts of 'nervous tension' and management of stress. They got an insight into integral yoga, naturopathy and holistic healing in the interaction with Amar Chandel.
Jivtesh Garg, Director, Hallmark said, that the activity introduced students to a prolific writer- Mr Amar Chandel. Moreover, examination stress and the rat race to be one up on the other in all areas of schooling have contributed to the malaise of stress in young students. So we wanted to organise an event that could reduce the negative impact of this trend.
