Strict action to be taken to remove illegal encroachments from common lands: Sidhu

Mohali  22nd September:-Strict action should be taken to remove illegal encroachments from common lands in SAS Nagar district. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was presiding over a meeting with officers of revenue department to review the work of removing illegal encroachments form the common lands in district SAS Nagar.

During this,Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu directed the officer concerned that strict action should be taken for the pending cases of illegal encroachments as the defaulters does not bother for the warrants issued to them. During this, he directed the officers of revenue departments to perform their duties with transparency & dedication so that general public should not face any problem while getting records & registration of lands. He said that corruption at any stage by any official will not be acceptable.  After that Deputy Commissioner presided over the meeting with district level Road Safety Committee and said that very soon Traffic Park at SAS Nagar & Driving test track at Dera Bassi will also be constructed. During this, he also directed to expedite the School Vehicle Scheme. He directed the district transport officer to challan the vehicles like Auto Rickshaw, Tat aMagic, Tata Sumo etc. which are running without any permission in the district. Sh. Sidhu directed the district transport office to conduct special checking of students who drives vehicles and is below 18 years of age. He said that no relaxation of any kind could be given to the defaulters.

Then after Deputy Commissioner presided over the meeting with district health society. During the meeting he said that primary health care facilities should be provided to the slum area through Mobile Medical Units and its prior information to the general public should also be given. He directed the health officials to provide primary health care facilities to the grass root level and also directed the officers to conduct surprise visits at drug rehabilitation centres and to ensure enough stock of medicines in these centres.
