Chandigarh 07th October:- MCM DAV College for Women- a pioneer in the field of quality education, in a first-of-its kind celebration, organized Foreign Students' Day under the guidance of Dean Foreign Students of MCM DAV College, Dr Vini Arora. Dr. Ramanjeet Kaur Johal, Dean, Foreign Students, Panjab University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Nalini Singhal, Regional Director, ICCR was the Guest of Honor.
A favorite destination among the international students for higher studies, MCM organized Foreign Students Day with the aim of providing a platform to its overseas students to showcase the culture of their respective nations and to initiate them into the MCM family. Dressed in their ethnic finery, students from Afghanistan, Bhutan, USA, Thailand, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka mesmerized the audience with their awe-inspiring performances that provided glimpses of the cultural heritage of these countries. The cultural extravaganza spell-bound the visibly ecstatic audience with spectacular display of art, costumes and dance forms of foreign lands.
The most entertaining event was the Ms. MCM International Contest. The contestants adorned the ramp with their elegance and charm Ms Khadija Ziwani from Afghanistan was all smiles as she received the Ms. MCM International title, flanking her were Khojesta Rahmani from Afghanistan and Gajendran Satha from Sri Lanka, the first and the second runners up respectively. Miss Awista from Afghanistan won the Ms. Charming title.
MCM DAV Principal Mrs. Neena Dhawan thanked the international students for the visual treat that familiarized other students with diverse cultures. She further added that Foreign Students' Day symbolizes the celebration of unity in diversity and promotion of tolerance and appreciation for other cultures.
